Lamoriello just appears to be dragging his feet with Matthews. Does not show much respect for 1st overall pick
- oldhockeyfan

This makes me laugh. Who exactly does Matthews thinks he is? What has he earned? And why should it be automatic?

I know right...

1- Bergeron

Tons of teams in this league have better.

Lou is a dinosaur. It will get done, not worried about it but Lou just pissed me off. Not that confident in what the team is doing while he is in charge.
- ClarksonDavid

I think Lou is a fantastic GM. It's just his stupid rules that are ridiculous. He's a stubborn mother (frank)er.

The first overall pick...and a very very good one at that. It's the norm for players of his caliber to get bonuses and he should get it no questions asked

They have good center depth. But Backes is nothing special. I thought that was a horrible contact they gave him.

Way to only name the negatives. Have you forgotten about Pastrnak? Have you forgotten about Marchand, Bergeron, Rask or the big strides that Kevan Miller took? Backes makes our center depth the best in the section. Wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of our prospects step in and surprise people.
- Bruiniak

Boston doesn't really have that big offensive threat.

They could have with Seguin.

Chars was your team.. Now he's old. I don't expect much from them for some time to come. I could be wrong tho.

They won't be worse next year. They are a playoff team no doubt. Have you had a look at the Atlantic division teams lately?
- Bruiniak

I'm not sure how the Bruins themselves have improved .

Let's not do this..

There's below average D and no major scoring threat. Marchand had a career year

I think your center depth is solid, provided Backes plays limited minutes; he's got a lot of miles on him.

You'll be a bubble team for the short-term, but you're not getting younger, particularly on defense.

However, Rask is still one of the better tenders in the league, so you'll do ok, just need to make sure you don't pull a Vancouver and let your aging talent wallow in mediocrity; should start rebuilding sooner rather than later, move some bodies for a good return while you can, acquire picks, and draft well.

According to?

Lou should stand firm on this if his beliefs are that players need to earn a bonus. Players usually cave. Larsson did.

What has made us a better team going into next season?

It's not only the negatives it is a comparison of team A to team B.

Backes is one of my favorite players in hockey, but he going to win us more games than loui did last season?

Chara was relatively healthy last season, is he going to stay healthy and play better than last season. He is our best defenseman and if he isn't better than he was last year we are in trouble.

I love Krug but his injury and his size give me pause......I think his size will cause such injuries if he is asked to carry a huge shutdown role.

Liles is 35. K. Miller and McQuaid are injury prone, Millers shoulder especially is suspect. Both never seem to play near 70 games a year.

I like C. Miller and Morrow and want them to be given ice time, but again, to think they are going from missing the playoffs for two years and now they are what..........elite/contenders?

We have trended down, it's okay. We need to accept it and sell the old guys, play the kids, and wait a couple seasons and we will be trending upward then..........

You're comparing Larsson to Matthews?

Lou is the only GM doing this.. I don't really care as long as it doesn't affect hockey

Backes was a 25-30 goal/ 55-60 pts player in a tough division and conference. Backes will be a productive and physical player in a division that isn't all that physical. Backes was made to be a Bruin.

I'm not comparing Larsson to Matthews at all. Larsson was a number 4 overall pick and signed a contract without bonusses because he wanted to play in the league immediately. Lou should hold onto his guns.

Come on. You can't seriously mean this? Have you ever looked at what you need to do to achieve them? Some of them are as silly as taking part in the all-star game as a rookie. They are made to be achieved.

Lets agree to disagree. I do not view this team like you do. I see a team with great goaltending, a good offensive group, a fantastic coach and a defense that needs a little bit of work.
