They should do that with Kreider. 4.5 x5. 500k bonus for 25 g, and another 500k bonus for 30 g.
So if he hits 25 he get 5 if he hits 30 he gets the 5.5. Sounds fair to me - mdw7413
I thought bonuses were only for ELC's and the over 35 guys? maybe im just making that up |

That was his potential salary. The base was 900k, all the rest was bonuses, but it doesn't look like he hit any. - mdw7413
That makes more sense...somewhat. Hayes still isn't worth $2M in my book. |

I think they now have something to do with the cap. Certain bonuses hit the following year's cap, but I think 35 and older players have their bonuses guaranteed, or some crap like that (like their salary), and hit the current year. |

Said it before, Hayes is the absolute perfect candidate for a 2 year bridge. been then you will know pretty well if he has a bright future as a 2C or not |

I think you only get 1 dude. Then they just keep renewing it.
Hey chiefs is here. Chiefs what happens when you get a restraining order against you? |

they really need him to bounce back to that rookie season form if they want to see good production from Buch. I think Buch is going to revitalize Hayes a lot playing with a guy with high end skill |

I hope so. I do have high hopes for Hayes. He has to get his head right and realize as a center you have to show up every game because when you don't its more magnified then say a winger. We have already seen he has great hands, really good vision, and was pretty good defensively his rookie year, he needs to be better than that this year and forget last year.
Will be nice if Buchnevich is good enough to make it and not sit in the press box, Hayes likes being a play maker and Buchnevich is a shooter. Would be great to see them click. |

Can someone explain the fascination with Vessey? Had a good college run, but are scouts saying he is a NHL ready player?
I mean Matt Gilroy was a great college hockey player. Not saying we shouldn't be interested in Vessey, I just don't get the hype. |

It's a big if, but I do think management is waiting to see Vesey's decision before they pull another trigger on a deal.
As it is, there are a plethora of NHL quality forwards on the current depth sheet and adding Vesey, without subtracting another forward, makes little sense. |

Cause a lot of scouts/organizations think he can jump right into most teams top 6. When a player that young and on a Entry level deal is out there for nothing more then money its attractive. Need to get more assets |

Scouting reports suggest he has the makings of a solid top six winger.
Not to say that he is better than Kreider but the Rangers do need one more top four defensemen and Kreider can definitely fetch them that in trade. it won't happen unless they are able to get another legitimate top nine wing. Vesey is the only player wing available, UFA wise, that is a projected top nine or top six wing, with upside. |

Yeah , I get the whole interest, like Hayes 2.0. I was talking about this kid being hyped up like he is a #1 of the draft. I just wasn't sure where that was coming from, but you answered my question. |

Schultz, Gilroy, Vesey, Hayes...9/10 over-hyped college free agents don't do a damn thing at the NHL level. |
