Cpt, Stormer was on the wing 95% of the time his rookie year.

Saying he played poorly last year because he was on the wing versus being at center is a cop out and sh1tty excuse for his uninspired play. Your playing in the pros kid, step up and quit crying this isn't Jrs. your getting paid to play.

Edit : Not to mention I believe he played the wing for Canada at the world Jrs with Nugent - Hopkins being the lines center. He played pretty well on the wing there as well.

- nyisles7

Both you and Dan missed the point of my post. Wasn't using him being on the wing as an excuse for his poor play last season.

But that was 90 - 95% on the wing 16. He will get a look at center in Pre Season and if he shows he's capable he will get a spot at center ice if not he won't. He also played wing at Bridgeport when he was sent down so someone didn't feel he was good enough as the center pivot. Its sounds as if he will get a chance to prove himself there this year.

Hey I'm not making excuses for Strome but you're taking Thompson and Capuanos word as the end all be all? You don't think it's a little strange that the guy has been flopped all over the line up with this player and that on the wing 90% of the time and now all of a sudden Snow declares he's better suited as a center?

Well we agree the team is Managed and coached like a poop show.
That we can agree on.

I think Snow also threw that BS out there because one of his best two way center just walked.

Yet he was also +23 in '14'15, by far the team leader in that aspect, (as he was in his JR career & Bridgeport). This is not Jeff Tambelini.

Well that's one of the dumbest (frank)ing things I've ever heard. What makes it even more funny is you're right. You're still missing the point though.... Getting bounced all over the line up is not good for developing kids. Not bringing up the whole center debate it's not what I'm saying.

I agree not staying put as far as line combos and switching things up constantly is definitely a problem which once again comes around to one of the biggest problems with the team which for some reason so many issues end up pointing to, our coach

I think some of the fans think that its no big deal.......if you're a pro you can play any position. But, moving Strome around the lineup has been a major reason for his drop off. Its laughable that their now slotting Strome in at center. Which is it?

I dont think thats a good recipe for development. I think its what messed up Bailey (that and lack of heart), caused that riff with Nino, and is now teetering on messing up Strome. My thing is this.......if you wanna play the "draft the best person who's available" card, then if you draft a playmaking center, then he should be a playmaking center.....either on your team or on someone elses. SO, when the isles drafted Strome as a playmaking center, but didnt have a spot for him at center, it was then that he shoulda been moved. Where I think Snow has been extremely weak is his ability or inability to address someones value and either keep or move that person for whats needed. Hes a hoarder...

Talent is there... But it can only get you so far without will or desire.

There has to be a hunger in him to take his game to another level. The NHL is not a walk in the park.

I'm not really too concerned with where strome has played but more with how he played last year. Lazy penalties, poor back checking, no interest in going to the front of the net, careless with the puck. If you play like that it doesn't matter where you play, you won't have success. He started the year on the top line with Tavares and we talking about how he should have been at center?

He had a write off of a season due to how he played and if he doesn't change that it won't matter if he's playing at wing or center. This is all on strome and his lack of effort.

I'm still trying to guess what happened here. My number one guess is the expression of someone who sharted in a tie game in the 3rd period and cant leave the bench.

Not a bad guess.

I always figured Giroux had just grabbed his ass.

Can't come up with an explanation for this one though.

Just heard a rumor on Bloomberg News that the Islanders are considering a move from Brooklyn to Willets Point, Queens. Not sure why they reported this as "Breaking News", but there may be more coming.....

Name names!

It's early to tell whether this is for real, or just a negotiating ploy with Barclays.

"As part of the Barclays lease, the Islanders in an unusual move agreed to surrender control of the team’s business operations, the New York Post reported. In exchange, Barclays Center agreed to pay the team an average of $53.5 million a year."

How is this unusual? They gave them $50 mill a year. Sure, hire whoever you want. I don't see them moving on that alone. They get $20 mill from Cablevision, 53 mill from Barclays, and whatever revs from tickets..etc.
