Correct The closer to the Cap limit the more "relief" you get.
At the end of the day simply put, if you need the relief placing a player on LTIR does give you relief. You Putz !

Not if you haven't spent close enough to the cap.

If we re-sign Strome for, let's just say, a $2.5M cap hit and then trade Halak and his $4.5M hit...

...then that leaves us with $67,341.475 in cap hit payroll. With an upper limit of $73,000,000 Grabovski's $5M cap hit won't put them over the upper limit and thus we will save/get a relief of $0.

Not really, just saying that it's not as simple as just saying "LTIR gives you relief" because it's not. It's also not that unreasonable to think they re-sign Strome around that number and that Halak gets traded.

Wasn't really the point of contention here, but ok...let's assume he signs for less. Then we still get zero savings from LTIR'ing Grabovski.

Do they give rent one, get one half off discounts?

I might be in the market.

I think there's a whole corridor for rent. We might want to put our name on it.

Agreed, you are right, however if you don't need it, its moot, really, but if you need it it's there. Nerd

Staple is saying has a chance to win that spot.. Strome played 30 games at wing two years ago next to JT and about the same last year so let's not pretend that he had 50 points in 14/15 because he was never moved out of position
- Dan Petriw

Yet he was also +23 in '14'15, by far the team leader in that aspect, (as he was in his JR career & Bridgeport). This is not Jeff Tambelini.

But that was 90 - 95% on the wing 16. He will get a look at center in Pre Season and if he shows he's capable he will get a spot at center ice if not he won't. He also played wing at Bridgeport when he was sent down so someone didn't feel he was good enough as the center pivot. Its sounds as if he will get a chance to prove himself there this year.
