Left handed right handed who gives a fudge as long as he produces points
I'll take that production from Vrbata on our 3rd line
If we're not using that cap space on anyone else, then there's literally no reason not to sign either one of those guys to a 1 year deal. We don't get committed to them long term and worst comes to worst we trade them for a 2nd at the deadline or just bury them in the AHL. - rangerdanger94
Vrbata is gonna be 36 years old. Collect your AARP check and move on.

True #1 centers are extremely rare and difficult to acquire. Which is why literally no team in the league will be willing to trade one. - rangerdanger94
But EDM has 2 |

Give it that sport to Hrivik, Stromwell, Kovacs etc. Get out of here with the brittle Vrbata. |

If they got Shattenkirk, have to believe Klein or McIlrath is gone. - mdw7413
I would say Klein. Getting rid of McIlrath is a mistake IMO, he's younger, really the only tough SOB we have and I think will continue to get better under Beuk and be a good 2nd pair dman. |

But EDM has 2 - nyrangers9479
And they still won't move either one because top line caliber centers are that good
There's a reason Pitt is holding onto both Crosby and Malkin. Or that Dallas went after Spezza even though they have Seguin. Or Anaheim acquired Kesler despite Getzlaf.
Every single team in the league wants multiple top line caliber centers. |

I would prefer Hudler who is one year removed from 70+ points. And, I would pay him a bit of a premium to get him on a one year deal. The good thing about those type of signings is that you aren't committed long term, and if you chose, you can flip those rental type players at the deadline for assets -- i.e., there is a chance you could get a second round pick for a guy like Hudler at the deadline if the season isn't going the way you want.

If they outplay Vrbata in training camp then send Vrbata down and give them the spot
If they're not ready or Vrabata seems ready to regain 20 goal form then boom you have great depth
It's a no risk high reward scenario |

I don't think they are signing another UFA forward, although they may have a tryout |

Ek has us E4 on Shattenkirk
Gues that means I am eating 4 slices of Ellios - TPC
The only players I would want going the other way is Nash Fast Klein obv Girardi or Staal but very unlikely. I don't think that gets it done but I would be extremely mad if we traded one of our young guys Kreider/Miller/Hayes/Skeji/McI etc for a player we can sign for free next year |

Right now the Rangers have
Nash,Zuke,Kreider,Miller,Stepan,Zibanejad,Hayes,Fast and Lindberg (when he is healthy).
Have Glass,Hrvik, Buchnevich,Grabner,Gerbe,Jooris etc. all fighting over 4 spots.
Is there really any point to bring in more players? |

I don't think there is, I do think you reach a point where you have too many guys
now if there is another trade coming that's a different story |

Yeah, seems the Rangers have enough guys to fight for those bottom 4 spots.
I'm going to pencil in Jooris because I like what I heard from the Calgary fan base. Buchnevich, makes it or bye, bye. So in reality its probably only 2 spots open right now baring any injuries.

Yea & Grabner I think def has a permanent spot, unless he totally shats it up in pre season. Gerbe most likely but he can be a healthy scratch certain nights. Have to let Buch get a legit spot, maybe even top 6 if he pushed one of the other top 6 guys out. Glass we all know somehow/someway will see some action sometimes as the 12th forward. I hope he only plays when we are playing against a real tough lineup from the opponent. |

My line right now.
Zucc-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Zib-Miller
Buch-Hayes-Fast
Grabner-Jooris/Lindberg-Gerbe/Glass

I need Buchnevich to come down here for the summer for some smoked ribs and poop. Dude looks like a Ethiopian long distance runner.

Not many, although I would switch Zuke and Kreider. Assuming they don't let Kreider walk after arbitration. |

A Klein trade is another area I could see them exploring but with that said he might be a guy they figure could be claimed by LV next year |
