These contracts being signed now. All the money is being paid up front

Does that really matter so much, except for getting the players their money quicker? It doesn't work to circumvent the cap at all.

Also, I am not sure if the Rangers will ultimately end up keeping that second round pick if they can maybe trade it for a younger player on an entry level or cheaper contract that has fallen out of favor. I think there maybe some benefit to the Rangers getting younger through acquisition rather than draft picks, which they did with the MZ trade. I could see them having another one of those in the hopper.

And then if you're lucky enough to get Vessey, and then all of a sudden the team looks pretty young again (despite all of the picks they've traded away). Vessey and Hayes would pretty much compensate for two lost first rounders, even better considering they are better than bottom five first round picks.

Yup. No (frank)ing way.

The fact they had him playing both sides. AV wants to have his children. I want to see what this kid could do in a full year.

Pretty sure Sjkei is the only untouchable player to AV.

I don't think Vessey is coming. Gonna have to hope Buchnevich is the real deal if no trades for a winger happen
