the Shatty report just doesn't add up... why give up assets now when you can sign him next summer?

I actually think the Shattenkirk type deals are ones that the Rangers need to stop making -- trading substantial assets for guys that are going to be UFA. Sure, if deadline time comes and the Rangers are really kicking ass, maybe you hit the rental market. But, with Shattenkirk, the price is going to be high, and the Rangers have a really good shot of landing him next summer, without having to give up anything.

So, put me down as a "no" for Shattenkirk, unless the price is significantly lower than what it is report to be. They asked the Wings for Larkin!

Have to believe Larkin carries more value than Buchnevich too considering he's already proven himself at the NHL level.

Would mean St. Louis would look for Buchnevich PLUS additional assets.

they pretty much had this trade worked out at draft and were just waiting for 7/15 for the bonus money thing to happen

it really just shows you nobody knows anything, insiders are non existent
