I need Buchnevich to come down here for the summer for some smoked ribs and poop. Dude looks like a Ethiopian long distance runner. - mdw7413

A Klein trade is another area I could see them exploring but with that said he might be a guy they figure could be claimed by LV next year - mrn22
Yeah, didn't even think about that. So hows does the draft work for LV? Best team to worst? |

I think LV gets to pick 1 player from each team |

I thought it was 2? Because they have to fill out an NHL Team and an AHL team. |

Have to leave 1 goaltender UN protected, who's it gonna be, Richter or Beezer? |

Hmm that would be 60 players and the contract limit is just 50 though |

So then they have to fill out the rest of their roster via free agency? |

Us old jabronis can tell you, it seemed obvious now but many people wanted to stick with Beezer & let Richter go before that expansion draft of 93. |

I'm assuming the expansion draft takes place before the entry draft so they'll be able to draft prospects too. But yea looks like they get 30 players and round out the rest through free agency and the entry draft.
Thinking about it now, not every player on an AHL team has an NHL contract. So they don't really have to sign 2 teams worth of NHL players |

Right now the Rangers have
Nash,Zuke,Kreider,Miller,Stepan,Zibanejad,Hayes,Fast and Lindberg (when he is healthy).
Have Glass,Hrvik, Buchnevich,Grabner,Gerbe,Jooris etc. all fighting over 4 spots.
Is there really any point to bring in more players? - mdw7413
Assuming Nash, Zuke, Miller, Stepan, Zibanejad and Kreider are your top 6, that would leave Hayes and Buchnevich on the third line (realizing that there could be some mixing and matching).
Personally, I don't like Fast on the third line. I think he is fourth line player, so I would actually prefer they bring someone else in that is capable of producing points.
But, I see the alternative view as well.

But AV loves Fast; and he has shown he play him on lines 2-4. Also Fast is defensive anchor. He cover up for a lot of mistakes by the other 2 forwards that plays on his line. |

Fast on the 3rd line isn't ideal but I guess it's not the end of the world.
A young kid like Tambellini could surprise and earn a bottom 6 role too |

Fast on the 3rd is much more preferable than Fast on the 2nd. |

Don't get me wrong, I really like Fast as well. I just think he is a real good fourth liner that you can move up and down the lineup if need be.

Kreider - Stepan - Fast
Zucc - Zibanejad - Miller
Nash - Hayes - Buchnevich
Hrivik - Jooris/Lindberg - Grabner
How about something like that? Really spread the scoring out over 3 quality lines?
Could flip Fast and Grabner too |
