Why corn? I mean, husks, yeah, I could see that, if they're fresh/green/soft. But corn? Like, a sawing motion or a stuff 'n twirl method?

I think it's kinda like a sawing motion most likely. The leftover cob was typically used I think, and it has a brush-like texture I guess.

Mussel or clam shells would scare me... those things can be razor sharp.

In theory I don't disagree. But Killorn is soon to be 27 and unlike the Leafs the Bolts have a ton of more talented players more deserving and worthy of the long term deals. Plus I see Kadri having more upside especially if he played with talent like Killorn does.

Couldn't sleep last night, so I started reading wikipedia and ended up at the history of toilet paper.

Did you know what we were using corncobs and leaves until the mid 1800s? Even after that it was the Old Farmer's Almanac (and why it has a hole through it to this day: so you can hang it up on a nail in the outhouse) or Sears Catalogue.

In Northern countries, it was tundra moss (not bad); also mussel shells, sandstone, or clay!

Jesus wept.

Shells???? it would like wiping your ass with 3 quarters 2 dimes and a nickel.

Right right, after the kernels are eaten. I'll keep that in mind, post-apocalypse.

Another one? Ancient Roman public washrooms had a sponge on a stick left in a sea water bucket of brine.

A lot of Asia and India still do the left-hand water thing.

And people shared the same sponge?

Man we've come a long way... in my opinion, current north american bathroom stall designs are barbarian in nature (like, why does someone need to see my feet while I'm pinching one off), but now I'm starting to think that maybe I'm just being a prima donna about it, considering what people used to go through.

Romans had no partitions, same sex too, so you'd be sitting on a bench with holes on it next to some hottie... that you now couldn't possible even think about having sex with...

I'd rather sit in a dentist chair for 2 hours than spend 30 seconds in a stall after someone goes in the one next to you and takes an explosive poop
