Hard to figure out how a 40 point center drafted in the 3rd round merits a 7 year deal worth $4.5 million a year. Yzerman must be paranoid of losing players to Free Agency I guess - really bad signing IMO as well. With Drouin, Palat and Johnson RFA next year and Kucherov, Nesterov and Namestnikov this year - they will surely have to make a trade to make the Callahan contract disappear. This deal makes the Kadri signing look like the deal of the century.

In theory I don't disagree. But Killorn is soon to be 27 and unlike the Leafs the Bolts have a ton of more talented players more deserving and worthy of the long term deals. Plus I see Kadri having more upside especially if he played with talent like Killorn does.
