I'm not sure what it is about Islanders fans....but the remind me an awful lot of Sabres fans...read into that what you will.

Would you be happier if we got a fair trade of Eberle for Hamonic?
- Jeropotato

I honestly think that's a way more fair trade. Eberle is good, but he's not going to light the world on fire and the same goes for Hamonic.

I whole heartedly agree, but The Islanders are clearly happy with their forwards so I don't see them moving any D any time soon.

Thanks for reinforcing that you completely missed the point. The actual logical fallacy is irrelevant. The fact that you need to get personal, says it all. I have not made one personal remark to you. Your position is so strong, that you need to do so.

No fool. You keep missing it, I didn't disagree on the crap you were spewing to Tanner. I also didn't give a damn at what you were saying to him. I alluded to both of these points in my first two replies to you.

The point of "our conversation" is that you tried to use a fallacy incorrectly.

That is it, that is all, that is everything.

I corrected you, and you claimed you used it right.

I corrected you again, with examples. Then you changed how you wanted it to work.

Now you claim that it didn't matter, which, if true, you could have just admitted the mistake in the beginning.

Any personal comments I make are not based on some "strength of position", they are made solely on the basis that I have no respect for you.

You completely disqualify yourself with your repeated personal comments. You're incorrect. That may have been the point of your conversation, but it is not the point of my conversation and the point I made. The very fact that you have literally no idea what my point is, while calling me a fool, is all the information needed. I do not care one bit that you have no respect for me. The fact that you have to resort to this kind of posting on a hockey discussion forum, tells me all I need to know. You're actually disrespecting yourself. Keep thinking, there's a little bit of a clue here, as to what my point is. Maybe you'll eventually get it, but I doubt it.

I got it figured out.

The logical fallacy you used was incorrect, that is all.

It is just like you, simple.

Don't bother with this guy. I ignored him for months and recently got sucked back in, to my great shame and embarrassment.

Completely reinforcing my point. It's a hockey discussion forum James!

Anyone who successfully refutes your statements, you don't want to bother with.

For the bold...I have presented DIRECT (frank)ing evidence that there are differences in matchups and resulting analytics for players based on home/road splits. Yet here you are still arguing that these differences don't exist. All the while completely ignoring that favorable matchups are "easier" to get with home teams getting last change.

Also, to counter this. I have seen you repeatedly (even in this thread) talk about Kane and his favorable matchups (Malkin as well). About all I can add to this is ummmm, hypocrisy much?

- uf1910

So which is it? Favorable matchups are possible if not frequently used or are they not and your point(s) about Kane and Malkin are false. Can't have it both ways.

Favorable matchups are possible, they are just rare. Having 3 lines like the Penguins did is great because someone out of Malkin, Crosby, Kessel is always going to be facing bad comp. However, this is a massive exception in a league that is chalk full of parity.

For the most part, players play against all levels of competition and weak matchups are balanced by weaker linemates. This is why game-to-game you can exploit matchups, but over the whole season it tends to balance out. Tends being the operative word here. Obviously exceptions exist.

And that is the problem most of you have. For every guy who has a real point and a good argument, there's ten people just trying to show you up who focus on the most minor inconsistencies or think that an exception IS a rule or whatever. Like, I always want to learn, so if you have good points, I will listen.

You are actually one of the most over opinionated and poorly informed hockey people I've ever met. Please stop posting insane ramblings just to get people to read your articles it's incredibly unprofessional. Gardiner is better then Rielly? Benn is overpaid?! Do you even believe the things you say anymore or do you just post them and laugh hunched over your computer? Oiler best forwards in the salary cap era?? Remember when you said the oilers were the best TEAM in the salary cap era, and I absolutely roasted you for it and ended being right? I cant wait for round two of I told you so.
