O'Reilly was fine before and has been fine after. He'd actually exceeded expectations on the ice. Kane has been underwhelming on and off the ice.

I'd love to have Kane as a 2nd, 3rd line speedy grinder but he just needs to stop being so dumb

- sbroads24

O'Reilly is one of my favorite players, and he is a good leader.

Just busting balls a bit, since we are talking about off-ice issues.

His was a one-off. Kane has a pattern of d!ckheaed behavior.

That's the huge factor.

The Sabres have such a young team, this kind of attitude could be poison in the dressing room.

Kane needs a few babysitters to keep an eye on him, and to teach him how to be a pro.

Leave the mentoring in Buffalo to true pros like Ryan "Hey, let's go for donuts" O'Reilly.

- Vanoxy

O'Riley is a tremendous mentor. He got in trouble once but has been a saint since he's been in Buffalo and was instrumental into your local boy Reinhart's success this year

I think you hit the nail on the head (pun intended) with your last comment. Kane thinks with his d!ckhead too much off the ice.

Exactly. O'reilly made a mistake.
Kanes issue is that its his lifestyle.

he's a second line player

if he produces, so what with what he does off the ice

before the internet, you would be shocked at what went on with the old time players

did anyone hear any issues about kane in the locker room this past season?

I didn't

Looking to visit Vegas for the first time next year for my 40th. Any tips? I know homie had a pretty good plan of travel and free stuff. Any help?

gamble (slots) downtown or in the hole in the wall places on the strip (casino royale)

I'm not much of a buffet guy, but they do a 24 hour pass for like $60, good for rio, harrahs, paris, etc. I did that for a late diner one night, breakfast and early diner the next day.

don't rent a car

stay in the middle of the strip

hit downtown one night

walk the strip one night

ask pit boss if you play the tables, for a deal on a show the casino has

don't do the time share tour for cheap tickets

that's a good start

I think Benning has stressed he's looking for 'quality character' players, which would suggest he's not in the running for Kane. That said, you can't argue with Kane's on-ice stats and play, he would make for an interesting reclamation project. I think his off-ice issues could be addressed by having quality role models in the system to mentor him (guys like the Sedins as well as Trevor Linden, who I believe he's said he admires), as well as being close to his family here in Vancouver.
- Zogg

I agree in theory in what you are saying but you can't be with this guy 24/7
1. he likes the nightlife and 2. he has no respect for women mix that with alcohol and god knows what else and it all adds up to trouble.
You can have all the character players around him all you want but until he decides to put all his efforts into his profession he'll never amount to his full potential.

As a resident and former hotel/casino employee,

Stay off the strip but close. For example Rio or Palms. A little cheaper, but a quick free shuttle ride or cheap uber ride to the strip. Also, if the strip games are a little pricey for your taste, they have a local casino right next door, or again a cheap uber ride.

Depending how long you look at coming for, hit downtown once, and definitely walk the strip, but don't try to do the strip all at once. Break it down into sections if you can. Some of the "shows" like mirage volcano don't start until 6.

like someone else said, avoid the timeshare sales pitches.

Rental car not really needed, and the MGM properties just started charging for parking.

Resort fees are real here, and everything close or nearby the strip will charge them. Some places are about $30 a night, so when pricing hotels make sure you attention for those.

Has anyone tried the Bocce Club on Hopkins road in Williamsville? The one in Clarence blows and I know the original is suppose to be good but I want pizza tonight and was thinking of trying somewhere new... Seems Bocce on Hopkins may have went downhill? But not sure. Thoughts?

i still think Kane is perfect Vegas bait. Sabres just have to deal with his shenanigans for one more year.
He takes up cap space and is an actual player, not a piece of garbage like most teams are going to expose.

Name your 7 forwards to protect that we should keep over Kane?
Doesn't make sense to me to leave Kane unprotected so we can keep someone like Deslauriers
If Murray decides he has to go, makes more sense to trade him,
Even if we get a subpar return

haha! Send Kane to Vancouver! The place where players go to kill their career!! but in all honesty to buffalo fans, as a jet fan If you're wondering if this kid can ever get past his on ice issues the answer is no. He's got so much talent with a ridiculous amount of potential but the off ice issues seem to play games in his head.
I wasn't disappointed when he left winnipeg for buffalo. I actually think the deal was fair for both sides but I really thought he'd succeed in Buffalo more so than he has.
The best news here is that if buffalo trades him to Vancouver, Benning is going to give Buffalo a vault of prizes; Benning is by far the worst GM in the nhl

He's only had one season here. He did disappoint a bit but should he stay on and not get suspended.. lol I expect his production to increase... That being said. If Benning wants to overpay for Kane be my guest!

I am hoping that Kyle Okposo has a positive influence on Kane. As someone pointed out, Buffalo keeps him this year and then puts him out there for Vegas, he would be hard to pass up.
Rocco's Wood Fired pizza on Transit Rd. in East Amherst will not disappoint.

Original is a bit far. Going to be in the Clarence/Williamsville area and I want to try someplace new I have a few staples I'll get from

Pizza Inn, Roccos, Francos.

And a few I don't eat at.. Picasos, Pescis

Gotcha
I'm rarely out that way, so I'm not much help obviously
I live in the Elmwood village
It's La Nova for me, or I'll take the ride to Imperial or Bocce's once in a while

I don't dislike Hawaiian pizza, but it's not something I'd order a whole one of
Maybe just grab the occasional slice
Same with stuff like Buffalo chicken, etc

I keep it pretty simple
Usually just pepperoni, but when I reheat leftovers I'll add peppers or olives or whatever I happen to have in my fridge to spice it up a little

When my brother & I hang out, we get meatballs & banana peppers on our pizza

If I'm up for a drive I'll go to Imperial or Leonardis 100% Those are the two best places in Buffalo for me. La Nova is overrated I feel. Their chicken finger pizza is awesome. But they are one of the places where there slices are better than their pies
