Such as? And what is your definition of a young top defenseman? Matt Dumba? Ryan Ellis? Neither are as good as Larrson, or top pair D. But they are talented and Young and have potential, which is all you will get for Reinhart. Potential, because really, nobody is trading for Reinhart for what he is , only for what he hopes to be.

Benn sure. Perry no way. Perry is 31. That's ancient in today's NHL and he plays a heavy game and already has over 800 games under his belt. Tarasenko is only 24 and he's got 77 G and 147 P the last 2 seasons. To Perry's 67 and 117, those numbers are great, but he can't keep it up much longer and Tarasenko is just starting to roll.

We have players making big money, Okposo, ROR and soon to be Risto, Reinhart and the most important Eichel. Giving out another big contract now doesn't makes sense and let's not forget by some strange chance Vesey signs here and he actually works out.

Unfortunately those dumbass GMs in Edmonton and Montreal set the market for top defensemen. Maybe with Anaheim and St Louis looking to move defense the market will stabilize somewhat.

The thing I don't get is did Montreal think they were getting better? I mean that contract alone is reason enough to stay the (frank) away from Weber. Subban must've (frank)ed Bergevin's wife and Molson's wife at the same time or something for Bergevin to make the deal and Molson to sign off on it.
