I would then move Reinhart to center

Kane ROR Opkoso
Vesey??? Eichel Kucherov
Ennis Reinhart Girgensons
Foligno Larsson Gionta

If you get kuch you're basically saying Sam is not part of the future and you're going to trade him

Just thinking of options.

You could move Sam to left wing

You could move Sam to center the 2nd line eventually:

ROR Reinhart Okposo

with the top line of
Vesey (hopefully if not Kane) Eichel Kucherov

Or move Sam for a top pairing defensemen?

Lots and lots of options

I don't think getting Kucherov means Reinhart has to go.

Hell I would move Sam to center this year and ROR to LW and run those lines at the start of the season. Have ROR take the faceoffs and move to the wing.

I'm just saying looking at it moneywise there's not enough money

And yes if we got Kuch I would trade Sam for A top defenseman

Money wise is tough but not because of Reinhart.

There is money.

The blue line would suffer a bit though.

If you look at Tampa for example they have two $8 million a year players.

If you got Kucherov, you would move Kane, hope Moulson goes and Ennis would go as well.

It's doable when Eichel and Reinhart are due their raises.

No question. Just wanted to see where other peoples seats are. I've had them off and on for a while. Three years straight now in the same seats but this is my make or break year for keeping them... At least that's what I'm telling myself right now..

Meh get over your kucherlove, we aren't getting him. Reinhart is a fine 2rw, besides kucherov disappeared against Pittsburgh.

You also forgot Moulson.
Hes a pricey scratch.
I think due to okposso and Jack/Sams contract in the future, we may be done with big contract deals.
We're going to have to spend on D sooner or later and giving our top 6 long term contracts could handcuff us in the future.
Probably why vesey is a low risk bet.

I didn't forget Moulson. I think he is Vegas bound, or you buy him out after next season.

Moulson, Gionta, Gorges, Franson, Kane and Ennis will most likely be gone by the time Reinhart and Eichel get their raises.

It is still very doable.

Also Kucherov disappeared against Pittsburgh? He had 7 points in that series.

He just seemed invisible to me. Didn't even know he had 7 points. How many were secondary assists?

Either way I don't see a need to spend what he will cost in salary and draft compensation.

I thought NTCs were protected from the expansion draft?
And even if not, thats a year from now. So moulson is a $5m/year scratch this year?
Also keep in mind that if you're counting on all those guys being gone, they have to be replaced. Cant be all kids from rochester.
Im all for win now, but like to be somewhat aware of the future too.
I didnt bring up the playoff disappearance.

Only full NMC's are and the only one is Bogo.

As far as replacements you have Bailey who looks the part for sure and Nylander who will have 2 years to develop who Murray said he could see being Eichels winger as soon as this year.

In 2 years you can have a forward lineup of:

Vesey Eichel Kucherov
ROR Reinhart Okposo
Nylander Girgensons Bailey
Foligno Larsson player X

I fail to see why that would be a bad thing.

3 goals 4 assists. Even if all 4 were secondary assists that's not invisible.

He's a 30 goal 65 point player.

Why wouldn't you want that?

You're not going to find a player like that with what we hope are late 1st round picks anyway without getting lucky...

I would offer sheet all day.

It won't happen but it should.

how many players score 20 goals on the 3rd line?

So it has nothing to do with points, just goal scoring?

If its Possible Pegula is pissed about his behavior, then Murray may look at it as getting a contract off the books thats most likely going to be gone in another year. I get the "losing him for nothing" idea, but thats happening to someone on this team no matter what.
It definitely wouldnt be a conversation if he put up more points for his salary and if there werent roumers that the ownership isnt pleased with how his actions negatively bring up the teams name in the press.
Doesnt Moulson have to be protected because of his NTC?
I thought that i read that NTC's count as one spot on a teams protected list.

- seedy

NTC's don't have to be protected
Only NMCs

I get how they might not want Kane anymore,
Just make more sense to get something back for him, even if it's just a draft pick
Can't see any chance they'd leave him u protected

When you win at home. Being there is awesome. Also the tailgating is second to none. Only major negatives are not getting home till 5 - 530 because of traffic and not being able to check fantasy as often as I'd like. Otherwise being there is nothing like it. I'm thirteen rows from the field

McGinn was more of a 2nd liner
Definitely with us
And he spent s decent amount of time w Perry & Getzlaf's lines too
He's a "3rd line" quality player though

I think he meant Burrows. And I agree I wouldn't do that deal. In fact I don't think we make great trade partners with Vancouver. I could see a scenario where Kane stays with us for the season and could be a TD deal or we expose him to Vegas. I would be open to a Kane for Fowler deal though.
- mhp

Would that make sense for the Ducks though?
They need to dump Salary bc of their self imposed Cap limit

$9M AAV for 5 years

You give up 2 firsts, a second, and a third.

Tyler Johnson goes IMO

- sbroads24

I thought Kilorn could be a guy we'd target
I like him a lot as a player

Someone has to man up & offer sheet Kucherov
I hope it's us

The difference between the two of them is $1.25M in cap. The Ducks need help on the LW and it was just an idea. Doubtful Anaheim wants Kane though and as I said I would see a scenario whereas he is moved at the TD or gets picked up by Vegas. This trade likely won't happen but it addresses needs for both teams.
