Then he'd be out of Nato for that. - tomburton99
Nato is a bunch of pu$$ies. Erdogan has already outlawed critical press, opposition party's, he basically has become a mini dictator already. He will be way worse after this. Hopefully he lands and a sniper puts a 308 through his skull

And then you have a civil war. No scenario ends well with this.

Paid less than Toews, Kane, Ovie, Kopitar. Also Benn is only 27. Gotta pay a premium for prime years. Don't think the deal is awful. - tomburton99
Good points all around. Wasn't the Cap supposed to prevent huge contracts and promote parity? I'm all for paying generational players what they deserve, but if this keeps up we are heading for another lockout.
Anyone else think the Cap needs to go?
I'm sure Tom could give a rational argument to keep it in place, such as the pre-cap Rangers.

Cap was to make it competitive more than anything I think. So the Rag$ couldn't spend $130M while the Yotes spend $40M

The Stars have a great cap structure. Next year Sharp, Hemksy, Eaves and Oduya are all UFA's. The Stars can afford to pay Benn that type of money. And he deserves it. He's easily one of the most complete players in the world.

The pre cap rangers are why we have the cap and I'm have for the "idea" of the cap. What I'm not happy with is that the 2 TV deals the NHL has and the terrible value of the Canadian dollar makes the NHL's idea of cap pure stupidity.

So the Yotes take on contracts for players that can no longer play to reach the floor, like the Isles with Yashin. I understand the concept, just don't think it worked as planned.
