Tough call but I think I would do the deal. The Leafs always have one thing missing, winger for Sundin, center for Kessel, #1G or top pairing D.

I've always like the thought of Trouba. The Leafs would then have #1C, top pairing D and #1G with a lot of young potential wingers and depth with prospects.

I've said it before and I'll say it again (barring any upcoming miracle performed by Babcock), Gardiner is the worst Leaf d-man I've ever seen in my 50 years of watching them. Why do I say this? Because given his skill set, he should be a stud instead of a stump. Oh, there have been others that you would deem worse than JG, but they didn't have the skills in the tool box that Gardiner has. Guy just has no clue!
