Although since Vegas will be in the west, it's entirely acceptable that you would still cheer for the Sabres and also take on a new team.

HA, good question.

I grew up in Buffalo, and have always been an avid fan so definitely the Sabres.

BUT, there is way more interest out here in hockey than most (or even I) thought there would be. A buddy of mine still plays in a local league but the hard part is there aren't many rinks, though many are hoping that an NHL team will help add more rinks to the area. I didn't pre-register for season tickets (I think they've sold something like 13,000 season packages so far) but can't wait to finally see more live games.

You say Vesey's dad can advise upper management (in this case about the pending FA, his son) AND then he will advise his son as well.

Tampering rules state that in no way can a team speak to or even about (I assume this means publicly) any other teams FA's. If Vesey's dad is advising his son, and then he's going and advising the GM on (presumably) what it would take to attract his son, how is this not a defacto, i.e. indirect conversation with Vesey?

The lines can get blurred easily, that's why you're not going to hear him mention a peep about TO.
