Based on how much charity work he does, how excited he is about the game, how hard he works at his game, how well-spoken he is, how thoughtful, interesting and just all-round classy.........actually never mind. - James_Tanner
I agree with all of this except the bolded, which you have zero clue if it's true. Maybe you should get on the phone with the rest of the team and find out the real truth instead of the one you think to be true.
I would bet you would be surprised... |

You defending the Seguin trade would be like me defending the JVR - Schenn trade. It was an awful trade, get over it. - Girouxsalem90
I never defended it. I said the Bruins and Habs were a totally different spot when they traded their stars. We were in a win now mode and Eriksson was one of the top wingers in the game when we traded for him. Seguin acted like a douche during his short stint here. Also, there is no possible way for the Habs to defend the Subban trade. They aren't in a win now mode. They traded the better player. They got little in return. This trade will go down as one of the top 5 worse deals in NHL history when we look back on it in a decade. |

They got a very similiar player in return just a little older and Subban and Seguin were traded for similiar reasons.
Not many teams looking to take on $9m in salary and sending something back of value IMO

See this is what the Canadian media does. They hype their poster boy players and people buy into it. They did it for Toews. They do it for Price. Go look at Price's stats and you'll see one great season, one decent one and a bunch of average seasons. Playing in Therrien's 5 blue line statue system certainly helped inflate his stats two years ago.
I'll take the consistant Rask over Price any day of the week. - Bruiniak
And Rasks Gaa has been going up and SV pct down
Price is better than you give him credit for. |

Subban is in a class that includes few other defensemen. He's a piece you build a team around, Weber is not. |

FIRST!
What a homer...
WAYYYYY worse trades than this one have gone down...
And as much as I hate to admit it, the Habs are a better team this year than last if Price is healthy. - Jaciems
Nope, you no longer have an elite #1 D |

No I didn't. They are in the game division. It could happen I guess with Gary's bizare system but either way I do believe the three best teams in the east right now are: Tampa, Boston and Pittsburgh. - Bruiniak
Wow, Boston is better than the Capitals. |

Do people not see how good Weber next price is gonna be!! If you think Mtl was hard to score on befor good luck scoring on them now. It's funny how many big time players keep thanking the Preds for trading away Weber. The guy might be the hardest player to play against in the league. |

Even when the other 19 guys are asking to be traded because of this class player?
I don't think so myself...you believe what you want. I think the distraction of PK being gone will be a bigger benefit in Montreal plus Weber is a very good D...better than anyone on the Bruins ( and Leafs ) |

See this is what the Canadian media does. They hype their poster boy players and people buy into it. They did it for Toews. Now don't take this as though I wouldn't take Toews on my team but he's scored more than 70 pts in his career once. I know he does a whole lot of other things well but does he do it that much better than Bergeron, a guy who gets almost no national attention. Their career point averages are similar. They do it for Price. Go look at Price's stats and you'll see one great season, one decent one and a bunch of average seasons. Playing in Therrien's 5 blue line statue system certainly helped inflate his stats two years ago.

I don't need stats to see that he has the most impressive lateral movement I've ever seen, and is perhaps the most calm goaltender in the game. The way he plays his angles is second to none, and his reaction speed is up there with the best goalies in the game. His talent is second to none, and there is a reason that when he got injured the Habs plummeted. |

Boy. You are in for quite the disappointment. Weber is not the same player. You clearly haven't seen him play in quite a while. |

Believe what you'd like. Go back and watch the system Therrien employs. It's actually less entertaining than any system Lemaire or Boucher ever tried. It's a defensive system that would even make Bernier look good. |
