This is not even a coherent argument. You amuse me, but come on!

Just because I discredit bad arguments does not mean I try to silence those who'd disagree with me. You just think it's everyone because you've never made a good argument free from logical fallacies.

But hey, think what you want, it's not like anyone can convince you of anything.

- James_Tanner

You don't discredit bad arguments, you avoid and dodge the argument offered by deflecting away from it with BS like "appeal to authority" statements. Same here. Notice how the discussion is no longer about the topic, but about something else? Perfect example of your M.O. James!

I haven't read the comments in here, but I'll add my own now, so apologies in advance if I am duplicating other points raised. Without commenting on the merits of the trades in question, I would have to believe that these trades don't happen in a vacuum. Whenever a team feels it absolutely has to get rid of a player, it becomes more difficult to get full value. Add in other obstacles like no trade clauses and salary cap constraints, and it gets even more difficult. And it's hard for a GM to defend himself in the media for a trade, because he won't be able to divulge all the information that went into his thinking. I don't have a problem with asking questions, but I think critiques aren't as easy to do without all the information that framed the situation at hand.

So wrong on the Shea Weber trade. Save this nonsense and refer back to it in February.

If the writing is not strong enough, by all means, insert some teenage rock videos....that'll distract them from the content.

Lucic has nothing to do with Hall for Larsson!

Of course it did! You can't seriously believe this.

Not so much PK, but Weber. Whose older and already seemingly on the decline. I think PK was traded because his personality/play clashed with the Therrien system

I see Weber being more of a disappointment

Shea Weber is a first pairing Dman on Team Canada. What are you talking about? He's also only 3yrs older than Subban but his composure and maturity lead you all to believe that he is SOOOOOOO much older. PK's immaturity also exaggerates this premise.

Habs fans are about to see an all star defenseman run the back end, lead the team by example, and most importantly PROTECT the #1 goalie in the league (world?)

See this is what the Canadian media does. They hype their poster boy players and people buy into it. They did it for Toews. Now don't take this as though I wouldn't take Toews on my team but he's scored more than 70 pts in his career once. I know he does a whole lot of other things well but does he do it that much better than Bergeron, a guy who gets almost no national attention. Their career point averages are similar. They do it for Price. Go look at Price's stats and you'll see one great season, one decent one and a bunch of average seasons. Playing in Therrien's 5 blue line statue system certainly helped inflate his stats two years ago.

I'll take the consistant Rask over Price any day of the week.

This has to be a joke.

I am confident that a team that did would get a massive edge and be nearly unstoppable. There is so much stupidity, ignorance, group think, and just like internet-level thinking going on on most NHL teams that you could probably destroy the competition by making your numbers team the most important voice in management and cutting out the entire group of ex-players.

Basically I am saying that a team run out side the 'old boys club' would embarrass the rest of the league.

And if you don't believe me, google "Chiareli, Neely, Benning and Sweeney Destroy the Bruins Video."

The old boys club worked pretty good for Pittsburg when they hired Rutherford, would be interested what you wrote when that happened.

That Edmonton trade was so bad that I'm starting to think chiarelli is an NHL trojan horse whos sole purpose is to make money for the NHL. That's why he traded Hall, a star from a team that will have fans no matter what (even when they've beein last place for the last decade) to a team that will only have fans if they are good. Not to mention having a fellow star (Mcdavid) outshining Hall would have been bad for business.

Not saying this is the case, but it is definitely possible

Hall for Larsson was a win-win ... both teams won that trade.
