Because inside info.

Someone I know that knows a sales exec there once told me that Wang was going to sell the team to a group of 4 Hasidic Jews. That panned out exactly as reported.

I disagree, bc KO left is just simple, no offer was made, no contact at all, that was the writing on the wall. Martin was looking for his payday and isles couldn't do it with current situation. Franz chose to go somewhere else that would allow him more mins than currently getting (maybe) but in whole those players are not part of the core and wasn't part of the future (thankfully)
This Brooklyn excuse is a bit old to players who make $$$$ so I don't buy it...

I agree and chimera said you play pro hockey it's a pretty good set up anywhere the rest is excuses. Okposo Neilson both said it wasn't the commute after they left and that's when they could have said it was awful ect. I think at the beginning the game day room sucked so they went to practice on l.i. and all was good

I have no doubt that there's guys that don't love it, but claiming to have inside info that two guys who were let walk "left" because they didn't like it is absurdly stupid.

I think he said that all the players hated it, and we should watch as others leave in the future for the same reason.

I work in three states every week if pampered millionaires can't ride the train 41 times a year then I don't want them on the team.. With that being said.. It's completely over blown.. Changing the practice to twin rinks solved the hassle. It really is a non issue. Never heard of a ranger complaining about practicing in Westchester and playing in the city

I shall offer most of them a good home.

Bailey "The Sodomising Sideshow" will go to Calgary. They badly need a RW of his immense talents.

This commute thing is so (frank)ing stupid. If they can't handle the commute to Brooklyn then I'm glad they're gone. They'll meet a ton more adversity playing professional hockey at the level that's expected of them.

You're about the 400th person I've come across to have "inside info" about the Islanders. We all know someone that worked in ticket sales. You have zero inside info.

The fact is that Okposo and Martin were made an initial offer and there was no negotiation, aka they were low-balled and essentially let go.

Even if Nielsen hated playing in Brooklyn, that doesn't mean that everyone is going to be against it. Andrew Ladd sure doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

And why are you right and where do you get your info Inside info?

So we’re 3 weeks from the draft, two weeks from the ufa day, our new owner JUST YESTERDAY said everything we’ve been wanting to hear out of an owner since….forever.. yet, negativity. This place is fvcking ridiculous most days.

continual complaining that a trade hasn't been made yet, the roster is set, the team has no options, etc etc etc.

I keep saying it - if nothing is done between now and the start of the season I'll jump on the riot train, but until then...christ...a number of you guys need to give it a fvcking break for a day or two. You're gonna give yourselves a heart attack or stroke.

It's probably about the same distance from Westchester to MSG as it is from the part of Nassau county that the players live in to BK. Different kinda ride, but similar distances.

It's pretty funny that before game skates were changed to Ice Work instead of BC everyone on here said there was no truth to the guys not liking the game day skate at BC. After they changed it, now, the problem ( that was never an issue supposedly to begin with ) is fixed.
The guys don't hate the commute they are not thrilled with the fact that they can't take their own cars and rely on Car services, train, etc. to get to and from the BC. Ledecky hinted to this today and I have to think they will address this as well.
Every other rink that you guys mention, MSG, Staples, etc. has parking in the venue for the players or a special parking area where the players can park.
That is what the players don't like about the BC. Not the commute but the way they HAVE to go about it. For the record they never take the train home from games. It's usually a car service.
JT is one of the fortunate ones who gets to park in a very limited space in the BC.
He doesn't like to take the train Dan, do you want him on your team? I sure as hell do.

I think the parking will be addressed and would be the easiest fix in theory.
Wether or not it will be easy is the question. If it was easy it would have been done already.
It's a learning process for everyone and after listening to Ledecky today you have to believe they are aware and are on it, from fan amenities and experience to players convenience.

How do they build something like that without a garage under it ect? They are building enough around the place too. I wouldn't want to drive in there everyday with traffic ect if I were a player

I'm sure it had to do with politics, environment being ny is the biggest tree hugging state in the country, and expense.

Weren't there already issues when Barclays was being built about the facility's footprint? Pretty sure I remember the plan originally being an arena designed for hockey but scaled back because of that. Parking could have been a victim of the same thing.

Not calling you a liar by any stretch of the imagination, but how do you know all this? About parking spaces, JT getting one of only a few, etc...

Only speaking to my personal preferences, but I can't fathom that it wouldn't be nicer to sit in the back of a black car and zone out rather than drive through terrible Brooklyn traffic/streets. Imagine farm-boy Hamonic driving around Atlantic Ave in his giant pickup?
