Hopefully LeRichardy isn't shortsighted enough to see that Tavares is Bon Voyage in 2 years. His incompetent GM and the fact that they play in a basketball arena in Brooklyn should be his main focus. If this team stays in Brooklyn it will rot like the rest of that borough

I bet you're fun at parties.

By the way, Brooklyn is booming and is the place to be in NYC now. Not my particular cup of tea, but if you think Brooklyn, as a whole, is "rotting" then I think maybe you should venture outside your Central Suffolk bubble.

Seeing a LOT of this on my FB feed this morning......waahhh, "we were promised 6 games", "the Islanders lied to us" and similar.
All of these NO voters are now butthurt they no longer have a 10 minute ride to games yet complain about "horrible" site lines and an off-center scoreboard even tho they've never set foot in BC. Shat, I've flown 1800 miles, each way, 3 times last season for games. Are they fans of a team or the proximity of an arena?

The people that voted that referendum down because it was going to increase their taxes probably didn't realize that, if my memory serves me correctly, the increase was going to be about $14/yr.

The complaints about the Barclays Center are so overblown it's not even funny. There are plenty of seats available that don't have restricted views. It's less than ideal, but it's far from the disaster most would make out of it. Ranger fans manage to make it from Suffolk to MSG with little complaint. Barclays is literally the exact same distance. People are just upset because the convenience went away.

LI blew it. I can understand turning down the Lighthouse, but they got a 2nd chance and blew it again. Even Pickett after the dynasty in the 80's could not get a new building. Fans better understand Isles are in Brooklyn now.

That 2nd referendum should have passed easily. It's just people not having any idea what they are voting for. How is losing a team and the business they generate better?

I thought the Barclay's was fine. It's not perfect, but the good outweighs the bad.

Allowing him to park there decreases his risk of getting a DWI by over 34%. Not because it's safer, but there's just less of a chance a cop is going to catch him in the act.

The citizens didn't turn down the Lighthouse, a politician did. One single, bought-and-sold politician who allowed special interests and their financial support sway her killed the Lighthouse. I think if the TOH residents would have had a vote, they would have approved the Lighthouse.
