had a dream that Provorov went to war with Hextall in the media because he has yet to come out and say he will be on the roster

I corrected myself but yes, I see this as the case. However, Schenn should be good enough to surpass Simmonds easily this coming season or the next.
- roenick97

i dont think it will be easy for him to surpass simmonds, if he can easily put up more than 30 goals and 60 points thats awesome. i also think with a full year on G's wing, Simmer can apprach 65/70 points. the system took awhile to click, but the second half of the year for pretty much everyone was better than the beginning. Simmer had 40 of his 60 points once the calendar hit 2016.

Jake technically played better with Couturier than he did with Giroux...I think the timing of it all makes it a bit unreliable though

The trend is the same over the last 4 years...its fun to look at stuff like this

Elite or upper echelon Voracek has the highest corsi over the last 4 years among Flyers

- YuenglingJagr

Im chalking up Voracek's entire 15-16 season plus playoffs to the injury(ies) he had. It cost him mobility and more noticeably, confidence.

If healthy I expect to see the speedy Jake who carries the mail and backs off opposing defenses with his speed and size.

"We really respect that you made an impassioned 30 minute presentation about the perils of trading P.K. We like to foster an environment here where people can speak their minds in disagreement. There's a real danger in having too many yes men. Okay, good, now that that's taken care of, you're fired. You just don't fit with the 'culture' here."

It is an epic battle, spanning time and space and still ongoing. The fate of the Universe hangs in the balance.

i can imagine a Matrix like battle where Provy is Neo and Hexy is Agent Smith.

All kidding aside, the depth of the Flyers D prospect pool is amazing. And, after the last draft, the forward group is looking pretty good too as are the goalies.

Hexy has really done a fantastic job in rebuilding the developmental system over the last couple years.

I agree, and he's done this all in only 2 calendar years (3 drafts). It's amazing that once we finally start contending on an annual basis, the continual asset management and good drafting Hexy employs will keep the cupboard stocked and usher in a golden age for Flyers Hockey.

I mean I agree...but really the biggest difference was just plain goals. He still had great possession numbers...even on a line with our favorite friends

I'd like to see Jake paired up with Couturier this season, they compliment each other well. My top 2 lines would be:

Schenn-G-Simmonds
Raffl-Coots-Jake

If Laughton can play effectively with Coots and Jake, so much the better as Raffl could be part of a solid 3rd line with some combo of Wiese, Read and or Cousins:

Raffl-Cousins-Wiese
or
Read-Raffl-Wiese

If Cousins struggles, I can see Raffl as the 3C

Agreed...I really dont see one perfect lineup top to bottom so some of these guys will have to adapt

He was hurt, admitted feeling pressure to live up to his new deal and basically had a lot of bad luck. Still managed a 55 point season, despite spending a good chunk of time with a grind line.

Spider Man had Luke Skywalker on the ropes, and as Captain Picard was on his way to help him, the 1991 version of Hulk Hogan showed up and gave Picard the leg drop. As Picard looked at his impending doom above him, Odin appeared and rammed a spear through Hogan's brain. Odin and Picard came to Skywalker's aid until Conan the Cimmerian showed up and just decapitated them all.

Assuming no trades, I still think the best bet is to try something along these lines:

Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds
Laughton/Raffl-Couturier-Voracek
Raffl/Laughton-Cousins-Weise
Lyubimov/PEB/VDV-Gordon-Read

Or

Raffl-Giroux-Voracek
Schenn-Couturier-Simmonds
Laughton-Cousins-Weise
Lyub/PEB/VDV-Gordon-Read

I'd still really like to see us pick up another top-6 forward. Scoring depth is still an issue.

Scoring depth isnt the issue. Lack of scoring in the top 6 is.

Until someone can step up and be an effective 3C, there will always be holes in the lineup.
