Given the fact that his posts don't tend to make sense (and the message continues to change), and he hasn't shown an ability to quote a poster, I highly doubt he ever had season tickets or the ability to pay for them

Nowhere but up for the PP IMO.
Loui & a healthier lineup & kids a year older will do that.
The PK will be fine as usual.
D toughness is improved & will go a long ways gor a PO bid.
Goal is good enough to keep us in every game.

Still feels weird seeing that with relation to the Canucks

What like going to the cup, winning the Presidents trophy repeatedly, being 1 of the best teams in the NHL. That bad management. What ails the Canucks started when Acqulinni purchased the team.

Benning shipped out Garrison, Kesler, Bieksa & others & what do we have to show for it? He signed Miller causing cap issues, even he said he could have moved him 2 summers ago. Why are we paying a goalie 6 mil per when were 1 of the worst teams in the NHL & will be again this season?

Thank God when Benning waived Markstrom no 1 actually claimed him.

- striker777

I agree that the returns for those players wasn't what I'd of expected, the Kesler deal specifically. Bonino and Sbisa….Jesus man, the saving grace for me was he drafted McCann late in the first round, and then he turns around and trades him for Gudbranson. I like Gudbranson, but the cost to acquire him (McCann) was too high IMO. I'd have kept building thru the draft and signed some free agent dmen.

Especially when 1) there's no talented young centres in the organization except Horvat and McCann 2) the teams still not in a position to win.

I was fine with the two second for Garrison and Bieksa, the market was different back then. What pissed me off was when he pissed them both away in deals.

If someone would've grabbed Markstrom on waivers the team would be royally screwed.

Aquilini is obviously demanding the team be competitive, it doesn't lie all on Linden and Benning. I truly believe they're following orders.

I don't see a problem with that.

I don't even have a problem if a team protected Demko as a forward. Every team can protect 7 forwards 1 goalie and 3 D . If you want to use a forward spot on your goalie go ahead.

- VANTEL

I don't think you can do that though....I tend to agree with you though

the 2014 draft may go down as the Canucks best draft ever.

Virtanen
MaCann = Gudbranson
Demko
Tryamkin

a top six forward PF, two potential top 4 d-men and a goalie who looks like he has a chance to be a solid #1.... that's pretty spectacular if you ask me.

- Mungo

The rest were great, especially Demko, but how many of you guys are actually happy with the Virtanen pick considering who else was still on the board (Nylander, Ehlers)? I have a friend who is a Canucks fan, and he's still pissed they selected Virtanen (And was at the time, not a hindsight thing), feels he'll never be more than a 3rd or 4th liner, if he sticks at all.

Have as much right to post and comment as any of you, not going any where but thanks for the suggestions & feel free to send the barbs, insults & down right brutally rude remarks.

I won't have your privileges revoked. Not a fragile flower who wilts by insults. I just shake my head & laugh at your level of intelligence. Just curious. How much do they pay a Walmart greeter these days?

If I when all of these prospects make it to the NHL & only a small handful will & we see where the Canucks stand at the end of this season & moving forward, we can revisit & see who was closer to right.

Rest assured I'll rub it in. How many of you had the Canucks other than Benning & crew had the Canucks making the playoffs last season? I certainly didn't, I assume most of you are the same people that slagged me then.

This isn't a feel good love in sight. Were supposed to discuss & debate the merits of hockey. Most of you do anything but.

Enjoy your evening boys. Time to go coach competitive baseball.

You like Sutter; Essentially 4.4 for 5 years? How did Bonino look playing for Pittsburgh? & we sent them a pick? Granlund? I preferred Shinkaruk. Etem? Borderline NHL player. How does that 2nd round pick we got for Garrison that we flipped to get Vey look? I could go on & on.

Love Horvat, Tanev, Hutton, the Sedin's & would like to see them resigned for 2 more years at a lower cap hit in reduced roles after this contract expires seeing as we have to protect them come the expansion draft with only a season remaining & Hansen. Not sold on Virtanen; at least as a top flight scorer, yet he will be lucky to be better than all but a few players chosen in the 1st round. His physical edge; seeing the theme here, should endear him to fans.

All these players Benning has secured for the most part have 1 thing in common & it's not pure skill.

Watch & learn young fella's. I put my money where my mouth; saved my 8K+ annually on tickets & rest assured I'm not alone. Apparently at least 200 other people agree with me, from THN, god knows who many from ESPN & Carrol didn't extrapolate the results of the 3000 local fans who as she expresses for others elsewhere are more likely homers slanting to the other side of the scale.

Even I'm not unhappy with Bennings drafting with the few picks he's retained he's drafted well but in the 1st 2 rounds with 2 top 5 selections a monkey could, the Vrbata, Eriksson or Stecher signings were great I just literally hate everything else.

- striker777

Good luck with the non-playoff Bruins.
Cannot figure out the draft without Benning.

Personally….I have no issues discussing things when I have a different opinion on the team, that's what the board is for. I'll debate or chat with you anytime.

I love the Virtanen pick. I think he's just as good as the other two because of the things he brings that they can't.

Picking a team on play station is not really coaching competitive baseball.

Very few here had the Canucks slated in the playoffs last year.

Will you stop posting such trash? We have Gubrandson and Sutter to show for Kesler, Cap space to show for Bieksa(and a pick, 54 changed to 64) and Garrison

Nylander has yet to be fulltime NHL.
Lets see him survive the rough going before giving him any credit.
Ehlers was my pick but rather have JV now.

To me Nylander hasn't proven to be any better than Virtanen yet. Offensively sure, but he has a lot of holes in his game still.

Your friend needs to watch a few more Canucks games, if he thinks that Virtanen is essentially a scrub. The kid has shown flashes of high end talent during his first year here (he's still only 19 for gawd sakes!) and he's been one of the few bright spots (along with Bo and Hutton). All he needs to do is continue to develop and fill out his frame, something which he's been working on this summer.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the power forward we've been waiting for since Bertuzzi (not saying he will be as successful as Bert was but the talent and truculence are there, it's just a matter of maturity and consistency). It's very impressive that a 19 year old can dish out such huge hits playing against fully developed men. In a few years, he's going to be a force to contend with.

I wasn't really sure what to make of his pick at the time but am now completely sold on him. I feel he's going to be a special player and a staple of Canuck's top six going forward.

I'll admit I am a Walmart greeter and fairly impoverished. Where do you work Striker? Can you please provide some tips to the rest of the posters how to achieve the same level of success as you? Does competitive basketball pay well? Are you the Trail Blazers coach?

McCan would need a f-ing helicopter to fly out of the shoes H Sedin, Horvat or Linden wear.. He's a tiny rat with a sh*te attitude, and no one liked him. Gudbrandson on the other hand earned praise from guys like Jovocop, Mitchell and the like... And could look all of them in the eye. Draft a center next year, and sign a UFA until the position is solidified...

I have to admit , I have no desire to ever be a season ticket holder.

Almost everything about the experience of live games sucks. Starting with the traffic and construction of the city and bridges or crowded transit. Line ups for Urinals . Overpriced parking and beverages. Sitting upright for 2 1/2 hours beside a fan with Body Oder. People constantly passing in front of you in aisles.

Give me my HD TV and my cold sensibly priced beer , where I can drink as much as I want and not have to worry about drinking driving
