yeah, that guy might be an NHLer one day but needs to adjust to NHL sized rink and not bullpoop competition.

As I said before, this is likely a similar situation as Kalinin last year. If he doesn't make the NHL he'll probably go back to Europe. That means that as long as he's not garbage in camp, he'll be on the roster.

Also, the Finnish league is only slightly worse than the AHL. Look at who he's up against. Helgeson, Santini and Mozik. None of which are established NHLers. Santini has to adjust just as much as Auvitu. Helgeson is an AHLer, and Mozik didn't light it up either. He's got as good of a shot as anyone, and my expectation is that Hynes will look to keep guys on their natural side, so he just has to be better than Helgeson. If Merrill was going to be healthy to start the year, I'd put Merrill in that spot, but my understanding is he won't be.

tl;dr version: Our defense sucks and on the left side Auvitu > Helgeson. Merrill had shoulder Surgery and will probably miss the start of the season.

Saw this article about Vesey on csnnc; this caught my eye:

"The sense at this address: the Bruins, Sabres, Maple Leafs and New Jersey Devils are the teams on Vesey’s short list with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a possible dark horse candidate after winning the Stanley Cup last spring."

I still think it is a long shot but I would love for this to be true! That said, I would still put my money on him signing with the Bruins.

I have some worries about personality problems but I'd still take the chance
