Yet he has so far.... Again, he had a back issue which limited his minutes, yet still produced per 60 as a bona fide top 6'er.

I get the injury/age argument. But the risk vs. reward could be beneficial.

For every Hawerchuk, there are Patrick Sharp's, Iginla, Hossa, Marleau, etc who can score 20+ into their 30's

I wish they would let him set up shop like stamkos and ovechkin do, and just rip it. I feel like putting him way back at the point neutralizes that vicious shot.

They do. It's usually one guy down low in front of the net, then three across at the dots and one point guy. With some rotation. Eichel slides up and down the zone from the dot to the blue line on the left side, and he and Risto sometimes switch places. It's a very fluid thing. Eichel doesn't stay on the point very much.

So I just get back home and I find out we signed Marcus ...

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

It's like anything else. If you're not used to eating something and you eat a lot of said thing, it's probably not going to agree with you. The first time I had the cajun chicken pasta at Tully's I barely made it home. It was so good, but I paid mightily for it. Now I get it every couple months and it doesn't really affect me.

Just watched Haggerty's interview with Vesey. First of all the guy is a grade A Boston moron. Seems convinced Vesey is signing there from interview based on stock answers to his questions.

Second of all I just don't get at all why Murray won't just waive the August 15th rights and let all other teams talk to him now. Is it against the rules for the Sabres to allow him to do this? If not, why not just give him the right now so you can know what you need to do while the few semi decent FA forwards remain or trade options remain. It just makes too much sense to me to allow him to talk now so if he decides he's signing elsewhere he can let Buffalo know and Murray can just move forward...

He signed a one year deal. Why wouldn't he? Our best bet in getting Fowler, Nash etc. right now lies in Girgensons not signing his contract.

Not at all. That's my issue with Kane, his bottom line, and per 60 were bad.

He played 20 min a night for gods sake. Look at other forwards with similar minutes, they double his production in some cases

Rick Nash -63rd
Kyle Okposo - 78th
Ryan O'Reilly- 118th
Evander Kane -204th

I was talking about just his goal total when he was on a good pace, but he missed time. I think you put way too much stock into per 60. It doesn't work too well with players that play a ton of minutes, or play very few minutes.

Edit: Who said Nash had a horrendous season? I've said he had a down year, he's on the wrong side of 30 which means he's probably not getting better, and he has a back problem that they thought was a leg problem for months, those generally don't get better. I've had a similar deal for the last 10 years, and it's only gotten worse.

What's the rush? The oilers just signed the fin yesterday and not a word said about it. But it's the leafs so the sky must be falling. Don't ever listen to the Toronto media because they're trying to create a story where there isn't one. They will most likely have a press conference with Auston wearing the new sweater and the number 34 on it and hope they can keep up with the demand for it.
