One of these sentences is a lie.

I wish the whole story was a lie.

They have 13 mil is space

Risto, Foligno, and Girgs covers 11 mil of it easily.

Where's the rest come from?

And please don't say give this or that player away. You're the poster child of not wanting to give assets away for nothing. And it still creates more hole with no space to fill it.

- dadeadhead

I know I'm l8 but trading a player is not the same as giving a player away. You get something in return. If you trade Ennis you get a return. Is it a hefty return? Probably not. But it's not like we're cutting him.

To much money for the 4th line, when are they going to rid themselves of him.
- SABRES 89

I mean he's worth what, 1.75 on the 4th line? That extra doesn't break the bank. It's a one year deal so I'm not worried.

And how was Stamkos going to fit under our cap??????

The Foligno and Larsson 1 year deals tell me 1 of 2 things:

either Murray is hoping to trade them at the deadline

OR

these are "prove it" deals

So Sabres now have 9 million left on the cap. Girgs won't get too much more that Foligno so we're looking at 8 between him and Risto. Just enough to bring in a guy on an ELC. McCormick's falls off once the season starts. Looks good to me.

You weren't going to sign a guy for 6 million and then you were going to move a contract or 2.

Or both. They're likely "Prove it or I'm trading you at the deadline" deals.

False. We are at 11,037,978 at the cap right now. Falk and C O'Riley will be in Rochester there caps won't count.

Girgensons will be in the 1.5-2.5 range
Risto will be in the 5.25-6 range

We can easily bring in a 6th/7th defenceman at 1-2 mill per and also take on a contract in trade like Nash. We'd be trading either Girgensons or Ennis for him anyway. The notion that we are a cap strapped team is ludicrous to me

Ennis is going to be the problem, between concussions and his back it's still an issue.

$11,012,976 before the Foligno contract. This also includes COR though.

This. Plus in a year replace Larsson/Foligno possibly with guys on ELC's (Nylander,Asplund,Fasching) and you save a few mil that way too

And if he comes back and is fine then it's a blessing. We'll just have to wait and see. If it gets bad enough we work around that then. Good thing is the future of the franchise doesn't go through him. He can be a good secondary piece though.

Not to mention in a year we drop Gionta, Franson, and McCormick's salaries. We're fine.

20 Goal seasons on the god awful 13-14 and 14-15 Sabres teams.....If he comes back healthy...he has the potential and talent to be a 30+ goal scorer

Well 20 goals due to top line minutes and power play time. He'll be good but he'll probably stay around 20 goals. Unless he and Eichel mesh really well and he starts potting in easy put aways too I don't see him exploding for a new personal best.

20 goals and 30 assists though would be a huge help.

Don't get me wrong...I'd be very happy with 20 and 30....but I think Ennis will be on the power play and being centered by either Eichel or ROR and that's my thought process as to why he can get 30...

again this is all dependent on Ennis coming back healthy
