Let Vesey go to the Bruins so we can be done with this already.
- SABRES 89

Theres a chance that he just wants a break from everything and doesnt want any pressure and thats why he wants to wait.

Or

He has his mind made up about what team he wants to go to and its not the Sabres

From what I get out of it, Vesey's going to sign with Buffalo. Going to wait until after meeting with Boston, just to make it all look legit. EOS.

People think it's all about playing with Jack if that was the case, this would be a done deal already. IMO let him talk to other teams now so we can move on from this, so we lose a 3rd round pick not a huge gamble.

I don't see it at all, he said he's a homebody. He also said he has tons of family in mass. Which helps him with the pressure of being the hometown kid. He seemed to really lite up when talking about Boston. When talking about buffalo he seemed so blah. I hate Boston and him choosing them over us will make me dislike him very much.

This speculation is as old as the conversations about Kane. We've all said the same thing over and over and over.

Yea i tend to agree. Personally I think hes not going to live up to expectations. Im ready to bring in Nash if thats really an option. I think it would be beneficial to bring in a vet like him. This team is still very young

I get the whole playing for your hometown thing, but I don't think he gets anywhere near the offensive production in that Boston lineup as he would here, or especially Chicago...which impacts his next contract.

But if that's what he wants in the end, so be it. I just hope this isn't holding Murray up from making other moves.

My oldest son is 5 and is curious about everything that I did when I was a kid. He recently got into playing hockey on the PS4 and that led to him being obsessed with hockey teams. Last night he asked me about my first hockey game.

I don't remember a lot about the night but I do remember walking out the tunnel in the Oranges (always awesome seats for being so high up) and being struck by my first view of the Aud. We were playing the Nordiques and we won 3-1. I've always meant to look up the date (I think it was 1983). It was really special to go to the games back then because the games weren't on regular tv so I was resigned to listening them on my little transistor radio.

Anyone else have similar memories?

I like Nash and I know they have talked about him but that was a little while ago haven't heard much since. For all we know this kid could be all hype so we are taking a chance, I don't think we will see any big moves until Murray gets all the details regarding Kane, until then between that and Vesey it's all about waiting.

I agree with you. Until the Vesey thing is resolved, I don't think we'll see any moves for about a month. I think that will dictate how Murray will proceed. If we get Vesey which I think we will, he'll be begin moving players out for the much discussed about players (Nash and Fowler) Until then maybe we'll see some RFAs sign. That's about it.

Remember when murray tried to move three second rounders to move up into the teens to draft larkin or tuch? And got no takers? I dont expect vesey to be larkin, but throwing a third rounder for 6 weeks to pitch a guy that probably would have gone in the teens in this draft doesnt seem like a bad move at all. If it doesnt work, fine. I would let him hang til the 15th though, let the pitch sink in. No benefit to letting him off the hook now.

More of a holding pattern as of now I guess, Ennis is the wild card here. If he's 100% healthy moving him might be a little easier because as of now, it's not.

I have no issue giving up a 3rd for him, not a huge loss, IMO if he wanted to be here this would be done already, not saying he really doesn't just looks odd to me.

It must of been about a year ago at least that we had a discussion about who should play Pennywise, but just saw this today on Facebook

Could be he just wants to experience the free agent moment . Many don't get that chance.

I'm not worried, I think we will be ok next year with or without him. Trust in GMTM!

Jimmy if joe Thornton was your favorite player growing up. How did you feel when they traded him. You won't have to worry about that here eichel is a life long sabre.

Baker says he thinks McCabe might be the one that should play with Ristolainen and then have Kulikov and Bogo. If we don't add another defenseman what are the thoughts on this?

It may end up that way but I think I liked Mccabe and bogo together. We will see how Riso and kulikov mesh

On paper it looks fine to me. Mccabe is a top four right now, it would mean more ice time, but with a better partner. Probably have to see how both pairings play together but it could be the right move.
