Provorov is the only sure fire bet to be on the nhl team. Anyone else I'd say is less than 20% to make it. This is not your fathers flyers. Hexy brought the slow cooker with him from LA - Just5
Even Provorov isn't a lock IMO. I think his chances are high but look back just a few years ago when Giroux was a lock. He had a crap camp and didn't join the team until midway through the season. |

Just a quick question. How many of your CAN'T MISS prospects do you guys think will make the team this year? - Bobd62
Did Slats trade Buchnevich for a third pair defenseman yet?😚
I could see as many as 3 prospects making the jump this year for the Flyers. Two are among their top prospects, Ivan Provorov & Travis Konecny. I could also see a younger depth guy like Taylor Leier or more likely Cole Bardreau sticking as a bottom six winger |

Does anyone know when Las Vegas can legally begin trading with other teams(draft picks). Is it before or after the expansion draft? - Baxter27
I'm assuming they have to wait until after the draft. I don't think a team that does not yet exist in the league can trade for someone. At the very earliest, it would be the end of next year's playoffs. |

Was thinking the CBA has some type of clause blocking trades of NHL/AHL players to inactive teams. However, prospect trades seem fair game but I doubt they are. |

Simmonds is such a gem and thee perfect fit for the Philadelphia Flyers. I cringe every time I see his name pop up in trade rumors. - Pixote Andolini
Could've traded him for a top 10 pick. Don't you know? |

Not certain but I would bet its as soon as this season ends and the next one begins (after cup finals ends) |

They are currently having a contest with the pens to see who can have the fewest draft picks in the next 5 years. - flyers4487
Right?!?! It's as if we should all pretend the Flyers weren't doing the same thing 4 years ago |

The last time the Flyers didn't draft in the first round was 2011, and in 2015, they were able to acquire an additional first round pick. But the Pronger trade did give them a hole from 2009 - 2011, which was a single trade. Not exactly the same thing as what Clarke did, which is what the Rangers have been doing. |

If I was Las Vegas I would have liked to have been in this last draft to get my prospect pool going. |

Was anyone there yesterday for the trial on the isle clinic?
I give the Flyers a lot of props. They entertained 100 kids with free sticks and a hockey scrimmage for about a hour and fifteen minutes. (They were literally throwing twenty kids on a makeshift "rink" on the basketball court.) The AAA fast track lane for autographs was anything but. Nevertheless, I felt bad for the prospects, you could tell they were worn out and exhausted by the time the autograph session started. |

Yes, but where would those guys play? Say they won the lottery and got Matthews. That means that Austin Matthews wouldn't be able to play in the NHL this year. |

McPhee only likes having prospects so he can trade them for third line nhl players. Doesn't work when their is no nhl team. |

Every prospect is different. Provorov is unique in that he has the nhl body at 19. He seemingly has a great head on his shoulders. He would have to completely bomb in camp and the preseason for him to not get that 9 game or whatever it is look see. His chances are very good because he is coming off a spectacular year in which he also stayed healthy. This is no 2007 165lb giroux |

They will get the odds equivalent to finishing 3rd to last and will pick 3rd in each round after the first |

There are 5 competent defensemen under contract this year (Streit, MDZ, Gudas, Schultz, Ghost) along with AMac and Manning. Nothing Hextall has shown, to date, should lead anyone to believe that Provorov will be starting on the Flyers this upcoming season unless he shines at camp. It's that simple. People should temper expectations if they think he's a lock. |

Seriously. Provy will be on the team next year -- get with the program. What we should be debating is whether or not Salinitri makes the team out of camp. |

It depends, do you mean when drafted or after? Giroux was super hyped after he posted the 51 playoff points, but that was 2 years after his draft year. I think Konecny may have a bit more. |

Konecny before his draft year. He was hyped as a possible top 15 pick. Some saw Giroux as a minor reach when he went at 22. |
