What ever you need to tell yourself.

I should qualify I'm not even a Winnipeg fan but a Bruins fan. A fantsay hockey pool fan above all.

Winnipeg isn't giving up Trouba for JVR +. Did you not see what Edm just gave up to get Larsson. JVR is no Hall, no slight to JVR & Trouba's a better D asset than Larsson. Do you think Chiarelli didn't shake that tree & every other possible scenario before moving Hall. I can assure he he exhausted all options & took the best option available.

Scheifele is right on the cusp of stardom. You could argue his 29 goals & 61 points were good enough last season to qualify. Little going down to injury was Scheifele's 1st opportunity to be a 1st line C in the NHL. He has never averaged more than 18:35 in TOI/GP his last 2 full seasons. Nor has he made the top 5 in PP TOI/GP yet in Winnipeg. Nor has played 4 seasons in the NHL, he broke in as a rookie in 2013-14 getting into 63 games. He has 227 games of NHL regular season experience, or slightly more than 2 & a 1/2 years. At 6'3' & now 210 lbs & still filling out he's still almost 2 years or 173 games away from showing the player he will be in the NHL. These monsters develop along the lines of Dman as opposed to smaller forwards. Simply physics.

Winnipeg has handled his development & contracts perfectly. He's just ready to blossom in front of our eyes & Winnipeg locked him up for 8 years at 6.125 taking him to 31 years of age. This contract even next season is going to seem like incredible value & when he becomes 1 of the best 2 way centers in the NHL you will be saying. "Oh perhaps I should have done a little research before a stuck my foot up my you know where."

There is a reason Scheifele was drafted 7th overall in 2011.

Sitting here sick in bed with nothing better to do.

Scheifele finished in a tie for 35th in scoring last year missing 11 games. Had he not he would have made the top 15 & he's still yet to receive 1st line ice time or power play time until Ladd was moved & Little got injured last season. That's coming for a full season next year & he will now assume 1st line offensive minutes ahead of Little & even if it's a 1a & 1b scenario he will have better linemates consistently than he's ever had in the past.

35 goals & close to 80 points as long as he doesn't miss more than 5 games. Top 10 NHL scorer next season.

And RORs leadership. Into the side of a tims.

Come on, you can do better than that.

Maybe something like: he's the driving force behind an up and coming Sabres squad!

EDIT:....or: hopefully he won't impair the team now under his leadership influence.

I was addressing Toronto's line up next season as the subject matter asked. "What will Toronto do with there glut of forwards." & the conversation here degradated as it usually does. Responding to a ridiculous post by a crazed Leafs fan to that started from by a discussion from 2 other posters. Are you following the thread of the conversation?

& JVR is a great hockey player would love to have him on any of my team. Yakupov who knows, hard to gauge anyone who has had the misfortune to play in that gong show. Still to young to write off but that could go down as the worst 1st overall selections of all time. A fresh start might salvage his career but appears to be crumbling under the expectations.

That doesn't change the fact Scheifele is a great hockey player as well. He accomplished in his 2nd full season in a lower scoring NHL what it took JVR 5 years to accomplish. Same # of points for career highs, 1 goal less & has never had JVR's opportunity yet but he's getting it next season. His 3rd full season in the NHL.
