I'm shocked Murray went with such a scrub for a backup goalie.
- SABRES 89

2 years ago he tried to plug in a scrub in Lindback and he just barely kept us in last and we all assumed Chad Johnson was a scrub until he put up solid numbers. If the Sabres move to the KHL Nilsson should probably be the starter

I'd assume Nylander has a say in it, though. If he decides I'm not playing in the NHL so I want to go home I'm assuming they'd respect that and allow him.

I mean technically you're right, but that happens less than never.

I think he means if he's told he doesn't have a roster spot this year - not that he's going to forego what happened in the draft

Camp then the 9 game tryout will answer that question. Personally I dont think he can handle it physically yet
- MCGUIZZY

With his speed I don't know that he needs to be physical, but he has to adjust to the more confined space on the North American rink.

I think the reason he was getting hit is because there isn't as much space to manouvre and he's running out of room before he completes his moves.

I wouldnt mind taking a stab at Mike Richards on a 1 year deal to play a similar role to legwand

Yep. I guess the wording should say "Well, since I'm not playing in the NHL".

He was trying his moves yesterday and it seemed like it wasn't the east-west distance that was hindering him but the speed at which the defenders were reacting and coming at him. He'd make his move and wouldn't be able to finish since he's already be so close to the player in front of him. Now that was a 3 on 3 game with only 1 zone of play so it's not like he had all the space that he'd normally have but it was noticeable.

Give him half the year in the "A".

See how things go and bring him up post All Star break.

Pegula's jet is taking off from Buffalo shortly, going to Bedford MA and turning around 50 minutes later to head back to Buffalo. It must be either:
a) Dropping off Eichel for his game tonight (wasn't he in Buffalo for the concert last night), or
b) Picking up Vesey for a visit

interesting nonetheless

I don't understand Anaheim. What are they going to do next season? Dress 10 skaters and 8 D-men???

They have a Surplus of D-Men they should be pretty open to trading for Girgs for Fowler who they're severely over valuing.

- mattsox

Bob Murray wants a top pairing return for a middle pairing Fowler, he's not going to get it. Tim Murray already set the market for Fowler when he said no to trading #8, and I'm sure other G.M.s also helped set Fowler's market on draft day. Anaheim has time, but they're losing leverage the closer we get to the season. In the end, I bet Fowler or another of Anaheim's defensemen go for a low return.

I hope that isn't the case. Moving your private get around to cart your employees to concerts and pick-up games, hell no, no matter how good Eichel is.

oh I get it. Read it wrong. Yeah, maybe they honor his wishes, but I'm going to guess that since he's close to the NHL, Murray would strongly recommend he stays in Buf or Roc.

I don't see why we need 4 second pairing high priced D men.
- sbroads24

Murray also has to take into account the expansion draft
Are we gonna protect 4 defensemen?
Then we lose Girgensons, Larsson or Foligno in addition to whatever we give up to get Fowler (or whoever)

The problem with all this is, they guy we need to trade ( ENNIS) as of now can't be and they guy that should be our 3rd line center ( Girgensons) can be moved. Keeping Ennis over Girgensons isn't something I agree with but, that's what it is as of now.
- SABRES 89

If Ennis can stay healthy, I think he bounces back & has a nice season
IMO,
He's either a decent top6 winger or a really good 3rd liner
