Without looking at the salary cap (I don't think they can fit it)
BUUUUUUT
Nash ROR Okposo
Vesey Eichel Reinhart
Kane Girgensons Ennis
Foligno Larsson Gionta
If no Vesey maybe Nylander shows he deserves a shot... - Stripes77
That lineup definitely puts us in the playoffs IMO
I like Nash though... But can see why others would be hesitant
To fit him, we'd prob have to get rid of Moulson somehow, which would obviously be tough.
Or Gionta... I could see a team taking him
Fast forward to next year...
And do the lines with Vesey, Nylander & Bailey in there instead of Nash & Gionta
We're looking pretty good up front IMO |

You have a year to screw with him and you are going to make 1 avatar change.

Johnson is better then the back up we have now I'm not gonna lie there - GERBE!!!75PTS
How do you know that? Johnson's numbers were terrible before being traded here . Murray has always been good at scouting goaltenders. He sees something in his latest acquisition . How closely have you followed him? Tall goaltenders are also at an advantage with the new rule changes with equipment . You think Mr Murray was considering that when he traded for him?

Yeah give Ullmark the year in Rochester and then he backs up Lehner next year and there is room in Rochester. - Stripes77
Yeah, seems like that's the plan
Peterson & Kasdorf splitting time in Roch next year
I'm glad we're gonna let Ullmark develop more on the AHL this season too
He did look pretty good for us, but still has plenty to work on |

If they can move Franson they should be able to fit Nash and re-sign Girgensons, Foligno and Risto.
The offseason next year is where you want Las Vegas to take Moulson...
If that happens this team will be young, fast, and have cap space to add at the deadline (and still sign Vesey hopefully, Reinhart and Eichel to their next contracts) |

His numbers have never been terrible . Maybe he breaks out and we get a good return at the trade deadline.

Yeah, that's true
In that case, we'd prob have to put Ruhwedel on the 3rd pair
Nelson needs more work I think |

Prob only saw him play 2 or 3 times,
So I'm far from an expert
His career save % is near .900 though
That's pretty bad now a days |

Absolutely. A million % correct. Doesn't mean that all is lost if he doesn't. Best case scenario, he's healthy all year and plays great to solidify that position. Worst case, he's hurt and we find out Ullmark is horrible and confirm Nilsson is horrible. If the latter happens, let's female dog about Murray. There are scenarios in between best and worst that could still end up very positive for us (such as further development of Ullmark or another guy we aren't talking about). - Phatjohnsn
I honestly see a future tandem of Lehner and Cal Petersen tbh. |

I like Ullmark too, but he's also very unproven
And idk why we are ck print our goalies to those of a non playoff team anyways
I like the talent level of Lehner & Ullmark,
But they're both question marks
Our backup blows though
Idk what Murray was thinking there - jdfitz77
I think what could happen is what happened at the end of Lalime's tenure here. When Miller needed a rest they called up Enroth and started him instead of starting Lalime, whom they had zero confidence in. Lalime was essentially the 3rd goalie, but Enroth needed to play and could play in Rochester, so that's where he was.
So I think Nilsson could very well be the 3rd goalie. And the Sabres just call up Ullmark to make spot starts. Nilsson will definitely get his chance, but if he falters they go straight to Ullmark. They're not (frank)ing around this year. |

I think you're right.
Ullmark needs to play everyday.
Nilsson is not a starting goalie, so he will be here for a spot start here or there and Ullmark will get games here as well.
If I had to guess what the Sabres are thinking they want Lehner to start 45- 50 games, Ullmark and Nilson to start about 15 each |

Crap... I totally missed that
I wish he'd have gotten more of a shot here
I think he can be a good 6/7
Schaller too. I thought he'd be centering line4 this season
Not huge losses by any means though
There's prob a cheap-ish UFA we could still sign or trade for to play on the 3rd pair
Love Gorges on the 3rd pair btw |

He seems to be following the Ryan Miller plan. A 5th rd pick who is staying in school, wants a national championship, etc. After his upcoming junior season we need to get him signed. |

I could see that happening too
Nice point
I'd have rather we just brought Enroth back
I know for a fact he'd have come here if offered a contract |

Murray likes is bigger goalies and so does the rest of the league it seems as Enroth still is unsigned. |
