I like it except for Laughts at 3C. Barring dramatic improvement, he's just not capable based on last year. There's Cousins as an option, and unlike Laughts, he showed he can play center at the NHL level and do it well....but then what about Laughton? I guess he or Read would be 3LW and the other 4LW. - Mononoke
my opinion would be to get jake and G back together. i feel they play better with each other. that being said, splitting them up isnt the end of the world.
on weal, thats why i left him out, if hes not getting a top 6 role, i dont want to force him into the bottom 6 just because. keep him on the top line in the AHL until we need him, can't hurt. - sjk540
My issue is, both Giroux and Voracek can drive play and I'd like to have them spread out a bit. Not the end of the world if they do play together, because Schenn & Simmonds with Couturier should be an effective second line.
Laughts wasn't great at center but once moved to wing his game seemed to pick up. Hence why I let him play wing and find a home either as 1LW or 3LW...But 3LW=low ice time since we know line 4 will play more. - dragonoffrost
this is what im saying, let us see what he can do flanking G. if he crashes and burns, then hey, we know what he is. if he clicks, than u make our top and bottom 6 stronger at the same time
Ladies and gentlemen, this is Laughton. Laughton is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Laughton lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense! If Laughton lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests. - Mononoke
really? i figured there'd be some hockey related content but ok

ive always liked coots and schenn together. if its voracek or simmer on their right side its really a win win. i think voracek obviously returns to form this year. but my thinking is that with all the moves to shore up the bottom 6, and use this to save G deep into the season, it would be fun to see a revitalized G with Voracek throughout an entire year, instead of a run down G running on fumes with Voracek.
A line of Raffl/Cousins/Weise could be really productive.
I think we might finally be able to say this team has 3 lines that can be rolled.
The other thing I hope pans out is keeping G's PK minutes down. 78/76/22/52/12/Gordon should be able to take that duty. - dragonoffrost
problem is two of that group probably dont make the roster. not sure if 52 played PK minutes last year, and raffl was used really sparingly. i think if they use 24/14 obviously and pair 78 with Gordon, you have your top 2 lines right there. then u can mix in raffl and weise as u see fit.

or get him acclimated to the NHL in a reduced role and hope he begins to put it all together
