With the way the Flyers luck goes I'd keep all the prospects away from the water. There is liable to be a Great White shark in the surf. |

Those are Russian goals...which after a simple conversion using my handy Russian point conversion chart (Vladimir Putin edition) comes out to 42 NHL shoot out goals....I think I did that right - YuenglingJagr I don't think your chart compensates for PEDs. It actually converts to -42.

I don't think he would have signed here unless he was going to be given a more than fair shot to make the NHL team.
IOW, I don't think he signed here because he likes the Lehigh Valley area. He had other options. - johndewar
I think he was promised nothing more than a chance. I think he was brought in to provide competition in camp. If he earns a spot, so be it, but I wouldn't call him a lock. I hope he does make it, and he's an upgrade. |

Provorov does not need buckets or sand shovels.
He and his team created their sand castle with hockey sticks and the collective broken will of their challengers.

The article was cringe worthy. My favorite part was the assessment of Morin, "is still learning the pro game". Then literally one sentence later quotes Pryor saying word for word the same thing. Very in depth... |

Laughton - Giroux - Voracek
Schenn - Coots - Simmer
Raffl - Cousins - Read/Weise
PEB/Lubyimov - Gordon - Read/Lubyimov
MDZ Gudas
Schultz Streit
Provy Ghost
I honestly dont know what is going to happen to read, i still feel like he brings some value to the team, if it wasnt for his cap hit he would be a shoo in, but i think hexy is looking to move some contracts, namely his, and streits, possibly even schultz who i feel is the least likely of the 3 to move.
i also think Lubyimov is gonna have to be borderline perfect to supplant read, PEB, cousins, etc. - sjk540
I swap Jake and Simmer and a few D guys around...
Laughton - Giroux - Simmer
Schenn - Coots - Voracek
Raffl - Cousins - Read/Weise
PEB/Lubyimov - Gordon - Read/Lubyimov
MDZ Ghost
Gudas, Streit
Schultz Provy

Ivan Provorov invented time travel. He went back in time and gave birth to Chuck Norris. |

Chuck Norris was put on this earth just to get people ready and accustomed to Ivan Provorov. Without him, we would be unable to survive the orgasm from realizing the greatness that Provorov exudes |

I still think someone from that forward group is getting moved or is gonna sit or play in LHV.
I don't think it's gonna be Dale Weise or even the new Russian player.
I wouldn't pencil Cousins as 3C too quickly. I'd like him to see him in camp acting like he needs to solidify his hold on that spot rather than acting like a vet who knows he's got a job. I like a lot of what Cousins brings; he's not afraid to get his nose dirty and has good instincts.
I think putting Scott Laughton on the 1st line is more wishful thinking than anything else.
I don't think he's done enough to warrant being handed that gig. While it'd be great to see him earn that job, I have a feeling that he'll be next to Nick Cousins and that 1LW job will still belong to Raffl. - johndewar
i agree he hasnt done what people would perceive as earning it, i think he has enough to know what the NHL is and i think he could more than hold his own with top line guys. his speed is a huge asset not utilized playing 11 mins a night, he has a nose for going to the net and plays with a bit of reckless abandon (obviously). i think he can be one of those cases where playing with better talent will maximize his potential.
with cousins, ur right, pretty much status quo from last year. if he doesnt make the team for whatever reason i would switch the bottom 6 accordingly:
Lubyimov - Raffl - Weise
PEB - Gordon - Read
thats also assuming the russian makes it and read stays. id also like to see Leier get a shot to see what he can do.
in terms of the d pairings, i like mdz and gudas together, and i kept streit and schultz together because they have been for some time now.
also i have provy and ghost as my top d pairing in nhl 16, so....yea

I don't like Laughton on the top line either. You think the new Russian player is a lock to make the team? - MJL
Why not Laughton. not like raffl, schenn, VDV, or anyone else for that matter has worked. hes scored at every level he has been at, and plays a solid 200 foot game with some great speed, why not see what you have? |
