Nobody has talked much about it, but I wonder what the Capitals price would be on john carlson. They may be in need of shaking something up with their team, and have a lot of good defenceman in the pipeline. Carlson is a right shot puck moving defenceman at a great cap hit(4 mill). Just a name I havent heard much about but would be a perfect fit with the B's |

Pasta+ 4 consecutive 1sts. I don't think Washington will let him go for less than all of Sweeney's limbs. |

I would have given him another year even though his stint with the bruins wasnt the greatest. |

There's no way it's that much. If this is the asking price all around the league, GM's are on their way to never making a trade again. It'll be fend for yourself through drafting and developing because it's impossible to make your team better through a trade |

I wasn't sad to see him leave. Obviously the man is a legend, but his stint with the B's was just ugly. |

Fair point. Would have been nice to see him sign for another year just to see if he improved any. I mean, the B's ended up paying a first rounder for him, so it would have been nice at the very least for him to impart a little wisdom on some of the players. I look at what it has done for guys like Barkov and Huberdeau and wonder if it might have helped some of the younger guys.
All in the past now. I'm sure Jagr will sign in Vegas next off season. That gambling debt wont pay itself! |

Was just an over-exaggeration. But gauging the cost of quality d-men this offseason (ie. rumors that STL asking price for shatt was Pasta +two 1sts, Subban for Weber(still can't believe it)), they have around 8 mil in cap space with only Johansson and Orlov to sign, I think they hold all the cards for that trade. |

Kind of adding to your point here, hasnt there been a lot of talk of possibly sending Krejci away once the season starts and he shows that he no longer has the hips of an 80 year old?
Not sure how much merit it has, but there is always those pesky roooomers. - dothedougie
I disagree
While I understand the gripe with Krejci and injuries, I'm so sick of the turnover in talent from the Bruins. Every year in fantasy A play a team comprised of only current or ex-Bruins for fun. Even without setting the roster half the time and making pretty much no roster moves, I almost won this year. Seguin, kessel, jagr, Thornton, iginla, etc.
I like to have attachments to the players on Boston, I have none to half these players anymore, Krejci is one of the few long time Bruins we still have and I prefer to keep him here. Maybe that's a stupid way to look at it, but no chemistry will be developed for guys like Pasternak and vatrano with revolving centres. Krejci makes players around him better, just because Backes has come to town does not mean we need to send away anyone, yet anyways.

You're making a mistake of thinking there is an asking price. John Carlson is very likely not for sale. If you want to buy a house from someone who doesn't want to sell, it's no longer just about what the house is worth, it's about how much you would have to overpay to change their mind about selling. |

One team in the bottom 13 of 5v5 GA/60 made the playoffs last season (Dallas). The Bruins were #21 in the league. The Flyers, Sabres, Wings, Leafs, Oilers, and Bruins would still like to upgrade their blue line before the start of next season. Two teams are known to want to move top four type players. St. Louis has Shattenkirk, a top 2 RD. Anaheim has Fowler, a top 4 LD. Trouba and Barrie MAY be available. So six teams chasing two to four players. That sounds like a PERFECT time to be patient. |

that group of forwards, at that time, were better than this group. end of story. - Niatnouf
Way better. Battle tested and clutch. |

Will Boston be better next season? Maybe. While so far the D corps has not been upgraded we did add an elite defensive forward. When you factor the percentage of the game we can have either Bergeron or Backes on the ice, that alone should tilt play to the other end of the ice- thus improving team D. I don't see how Krejci can be moved- Backes and Bergie are too similar and too needed on defensive draws- Krecji brings a very different element and now can have more offensive zone starts to improve his ability to use his skill set. When you think of what Pittsburgh spends on their top TWO centers, it's ok the amount we have invested in our top 3. And sometimes Backes will likely be on the wing- though I believe his longevity will be better served if he mostly plays center. This will also allow more judicious use of Bergie, extending his prime years too. The real shame is not having the cap space to have kept Loui AND added Backes- that would have really made our forward crop elite- maybe Vesey will come but hard to say. I don't see Krejci being moved this year and thus I don't see us getting an elite D. Unless Anaheim will take next years first and Hayes for Fowler we are stuck- maybe a tier lower, like Scandella is more realistic. Too bad we didn't have more picks, those used on Stempniak, to trade on draft day. |

Morrow and C. Miller get one way deals. http://bruins.nhl.com/clu...?id=889350&cmpid=rss-News - dothedougie Hopefully they both see enough ice time and the plan isnt to sit one on alternating nights. Would like to see each of them play more than 41 games. Maybe after all this Vesey stuff passes, Don will start making some deals. Hopefully it involves 1. McQuaid or 2. K.Miller.
