That's what I was thinking... the plan is to score a touchdown every game!
In all reality, I can see this team being very similar to last year... except that they actually pick up some legit help on D part way through the season, and actually squeak into the playoffs this year. I don't think it's going to be pretty... Probably grab a wildcard spot. But I'd rather be just in the playoffs than just out of the playoffs. - mixturebill
Guess we should invite Gronk to camp on a tryout basis. He is a tough guy right? |

NO. He needs to be wrapped in (frank)ing bubble wrap until the playoffs. |

oh i have no issue with the signing. i like it, in fact.
my issue was the thought the forward group we now have is better that the 11 group. i can't get behind that. - Niatnouf
Yeah I like Backes. There are far worse moves Sweeney could have made. We know he's capable of it (Barzal, Connor, the 29th pick this year). Its not an improvement over Eriksson though. |

yes...under an ocean of alcohol the memories are somewhere.... - glove_was_stuck
Hey man, we all gotta dull the pain in our own way. Alcohol is the only way I can watch Jimmy Hayes and kevan miller play hockey. Even then I find it difficult sometimes. |

It's true. I'm going to have my cousin in Virginia ship up some Everclear for me. If I can erase my mind after watching those 2 it won't be so bad, right? RIGHT?!!!!! |

I can see where the guy is coming from, but he isn't backing up his point very well. I would still choose the 11 Bruins forwards over this team, but I think this year may be as exciting to watch, as a younger, quicker team. Throwing away the checking line of paille, Campbell and Thornton and adding in the speed of youth like pasta, spooner, vatrano and Griffith. If those kids play as well as they did last year, and they send Hayes away, Boston is going to make some offensive noise. (Is that a pun? I want it to be anyways)
Marchand Bergeron backes
Vatrano krejci pasta
Belesky spooner Griffith
Nash acciari Hayes
I would just like Hayes out of there for vesey, and then vesey and Griffith switching lines. Top three lines having speed, size, and two way play.

Kind of adding to your point here, hasnt there been a lot of talk of possibly sending Krejci away once the season starts and he shows that he no longer has the hips of an 80 year old?
Not sure how much merit it has, but there is always those pesky roooomers. |

he's one of these guys that will have to go out and play well for a bit to boost value before a trade. |

I have a hard time believing someone will take on his salary AND we get a top D man in return. But I guess we will see what happens. Seems kinda like the roster is set for the start of the season already, barring any surprises out of development/training camps. |

Send him to Edmonton so Chairelli can have another one of his (frank)ing terrible contracts back. I don't give a poop about the return either
OK. I meant Nurse or Klefbom. |

Depends on how you look at it. If you're looking strictly at a point production point of view, then it's a minor step back from Eriksson... if you look at it from a leader/intangibles point of view, it's a HUGE upgrade over Eriksson.
Basically we replaced 18 points with a guy who has the ability to play center or wing, and brings a ton of leadership that we were never going to get from Eriksson. They'll make up those 18 points easy with improved production from the likes of Pastrnak, Vatrano, Spooner, etc...
Personally I do think it's a pretty significant improvement over Eriksson because you get everything you got with Loui (minus a couple of points) and now have a guy who can play center or wing, and brings a lot of character to the team. |

Hey, based on what they got for Hall, that return might not be far off. |

I'd bet he would be better than Hayes. Actually Rinaldo was probably better than Hayes... he just made way dumber plays that got him into DoPS problems... |

That's true, but Backes' beard puts Loui's molester stash to shame. |
