Ugh I don't know.

I've always like Miller because he wants the puck on his stick and when he does get it, he's got the confidence to keep it and make a play. I feel like Kreider is always looking to get rid of the puck the first chance he gets because he lacks confidence in himself to really do anything.

I guess Miller, but I'd be hesitant with both. Despite Miller's desire to make plays, the guy couldn't buy a facking goal until this past season. And even this past season, he only could for the first 2/3 of the season or so before he became same old Miller.

1st season he really had any type of scoring role though. I expect big things out of him this year. If he gets going and isn't so hard on himself, he could be a really good top 6 guy. Do agree with you, Miller wants the puck, can't teach that.

This lineup desperately needs Kreider's size and speed as much as anything else. If they can sign him to a 5 x $4.5M year deal (NO NMC) now -while it's the cheapest he'll ever be- DO IT. Even if he only scores 20 in each of the next two seasons, he's still very tradeable, being you know, exactly the player every team wants, and they'll believe their change of scenery will be what he needs to hit 35 every year.

I have no faith Kreider gets any better so in my mind there is little to no risk in anything other than paying him long term for anything over 4-4.25. imo.

If its a choice, I would rather lock up Miller.

Tragic what happened to the kid but we never know what could have been. Everyone can wax poetic like he would have been the next Jagr but more than likely he would have been another Brendyl/Jessimen/Grachev. Same w Michael Sauer, the kid was a decent d man, but people act like he would have been an all star for years if his career didn't end too soon.
