How does it work for UFA? - nyrangers9479
Depends on the length of the contract. For example. if Grabner only signed for one year, he would be a free agent by the expansion draft. Since two years, he has to be protected or exposed in the draft, the latter is what the Rangers will do with him. |

I meant in terms of Shattenkirk etc that will be UFA next summer |

UFA can't be claimed, they are available to sign when free agency begins. Why if you deal for him, you need to have a tacit, undisclosed agreement as to a deal but don't sign him until after the expansion draft |

After reading up on it, we could ask Girardi and Staal to waive to be eligable to be drafted by the expansion team. Same with Nash but I don't think he will be here for that. Looking at our team how it stands now, we likely lose Klein, Holden or McIlrath to the draft.
Nash(NT) Stepan(P) Kreider(P)
Zucc(P) Brass(P) Miller(P)
Buchnevich(T) Hayes(P) Grabner(Exposed)
X X Fast(Exposed)
McD(P) Klein(Exposed)
Skeji(T) Girardi(NT)
Staal(NT) McIlrath(Exposed unless he plays under 40 games I believe)
Hank(P)
Raanta(Exposed)
Holden(Exposed)
Clendenning(Exposed)
P is protected
NT is No trade(have to protect)
T is not enough time |

Happy Birthday Jan and Jimmy. September marks my 54th year. Born the same year as the NY Mets. I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Enjoy the 45th, old man. I hit the 46th revolution around the sun at the end of June, and everything still works. |

Happy belated, Jan! Thanks for your continued efforts.
Happy birthday, Jim. Hope you enjoy it.
I'm glad to hear of this. With the seven pages a day filled with talk of food trucks and horrible franchise restaurants, I figured I was the old man around here at 43. |

Based upon his comments against gun control, I would be willing to bet that lesser Matt is more of a redneck than a hipster. |

Hipsters are in NY. We keep them out of NJ. Tom Burton is building a wall. |
