JVR for Lindholm

JVR for Fowler

JVR for Vatanen

JVR for Barrie

JVR for Hanifin

JVR for Klefbom

JVR for Brodin

JVR for Dumba

JVR for Trouba

JVR for Faulk

All good dmen under 25. All trades possible.

half that list solves nothing and the other half isn't attainable. Somewhere in the middle is Fowler who is the D version of JVR

Why not keep him? He's big and talented, and aside from Mathews, your young forwards are smallish. You'll just end up overpaying for a similar player down the road in free agency or giving up assets to trade for one.

Unless, of course, you think Evander Kane can fill the void, you should be able to get him out of Buffalo for Teemu Hartikainens rights if you have them.

JVR is big, but does not throw his weight around at all. And yes, he is talented, but was part of the team that mailed it in.

JVR is not worth 7.5 mil. Anything more than 5.5., you let him go. And he is definitely getting more than 5.5.

No, we don't.

If a couple of the kids look good this season and the deal is right....trade him at this year's deadline.

He has much better value with another year left on his contract so trading him this season would get the best retiurn.

If none of the kids look ready, you have to keep him. If none of the kids look like they are going to pan out at all....you have to start negotiating.

Let him come back from injury and put up 25g and 30 assists by the deadline playing with Kadri and Marner, then trade him for a much better package than you could now.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree. But I would not give JVR more than 5.5 mil in any circumstance. And he is getting at least 7.

Nobody ever said that. But since we're going with this....I wouldn't give Fowler 7.

You're the only one saying he is getting $7.5M....who else said it???

What if JVR signs a Kadri/Reilly deal....say $6M for 6?

Nobody knows what Lou/Shanny will offer and what he will accept. You can't base your whole premise on a magical, out-of-the-a$$ salary number.

Wanting to trade an overrated winger who will receive at least 7 mil when his contract expires for a younger, cheaper, more reliable dman is grass is green on the other side syndrome?

JVR will get that kind of money for sure, just look at Okposo ( same range of player, IMO). Better to negotiate than replace with a more expensive UFA contract.

There are three options.

1. You trade JVR.

2. You keep JVR for 7.5 mil.

3. You let him walk for nothing.

Which do you choose? IMO there is a pretty clear answer here.

He's so over rated yet you think he'll fetch a top dman. Makes sense.

Uh, yes, he will fetch a top dman precisely because he is overrated...

Please look up the meaning of the word.

I trade JVR. In a year or two. Wow! A 4th option! who saw that coming!?

I wait while the you g wingers develop, Negotiate with jvr and see what his demands are..and take it from there. Wow a 5th option! Didn't see that coming!

Uh, I believe "trade JVR in a year" falls under the "Trade JVR" option... no?

And yup, negotiate so he takes less than 5.5 mil. Totally realistic!

So where are these other options exactly? Maybe we should just wait until JVR gets injured midway thru the season in his final year? Man you're just full of great ideas

Well it's a good thing you have awesome management because they can make another team's currently unavailable top pairing D man available for a top line winger, where an average or below average manager could not.

K. You're too inebriated to debate with. Good night. Drink lots of water.

When you wake up tomorrow JVR will be as valuable as Hall. And while still losing the trade Larsson will be as good as Doughty.

You keep him this year, then dangle him at the trade deadline. You might score a very good prospect, or a first round draft pick around #10. Maybe you go talk to Brian Burke and see if someone like Dougie Hamilton is available for trade, for JVR. At worst, you play him all year and deal him at the draft.

Yes, That's why Hall, Kessel, Myers, Kesler, Spezza etc were all traded for way less than their HB posters thought they were worth.

These scouts and GM's are a bunch of dolts.

Come on man.

You are in your own little fantasy JVR/Sundin world.

When exactly is he walking?

How much is he getting paid for his next contract?

What team is offering the Leafs anything for him that they are passing on?

I pretty sure his current contract isn't up for two years....SO WE HAVE TWO YEARS to figure out if your other psychic predictions are true.

Chill the (frank) out. He's not going anywhere and I haven't heard the Leafs turned down any offer for him. WTF?
