The Sabres may not be with Kane nor ROR on opening day due to a suspension.

Im not thinking from the league... might be a small thing imposed by the Sabres for having to deal with it.

another thing you could do is take a sheet of plywood, cut it into about 20 different small pieces, find about 100 rusty nails, pound said nails into the plywood, flip plywood over and place throughout your yard.

Just make sure you put up a "Caution work zone" sign and you are good to go.

At this point he has little to no value in the trade market. They either have to accept complete failure in that trade or hope he turns it around this season on and off the ice and gets some value

I'm way late to this, sorry, but is it a loss? It was a sly move to get an injured player and secure Eichel. Yes, Kane may not work out and we lost some prospects that may/may not work out, but in the end, removing those players (myers and stafford) helped us come in last and allowed us to secure Eichel. I make that same trade again.

I reject that idea out of hand. The 04-05 Sabres had only Drury and Numminen with any real playoff experience. We had a rookie goalie in Miller, a rookie in Pominville, Derek Roy was a 2nd year player, well really only one and a half years, Briere had a whopping 6 games of playoff experience coming into that season, Dumont had 13 games of playoff experience from back in 00-01. That team was definitely older than this team(a handful of guys at 22 being the youngest), but the experience level and talent is at least as high if not higher on the talent side. Those 22 year olds were by and large playing their first full seasons in the NHL.
- Wetbandit1

That 04-05 team played really well. Didn't lose a game all year.

At this point, I hope he signs in Toronto or Boston and is a colossal bust. There's too much drama surrounding a kid who hasn't proved anything. Gerbe won a Hobey Baker too, and while he's an NHL caliber player, he's not a superstar. Vesey is acting like he's already a superstar. (frank) him!
- Khmylev

Gerbe was a finalist.

Kevin Porter won a Hobey Baker.

It's a loss. You can't predict what would have happened if they stayed. Staff would have been unloaded anyways so really the only downgrade was from Myers to Bogo, and Bogo wasn't bad to end that year anyway.

The problem isn't that we lost any of those pieces, it's that we lost what there value was at the time.

A 1st in a loaded draft could have been enough to move for a goal scorer that's equal or better than Kane.

Good thing is, with this offseason, it might become irrelevant.

All depends on Bailey, Guhle, Vesey etc.
