Simmons can be a clown, but this theory wouldn't shock me if it turned out to be correct.

This is probably the first article he has written which I haven't laughed at.

Like most of us said here, there is too much pressure for a player to go home and make the Leafs winners again.

They can bench a player, but if they have a contract (which they all do)...the GM will be forced to pay them regardless.

This is not in the GMs interest, nor the players, which is usually why you see a trade once the relationship has deteriorated to that level.

EDIT: Although, I think there are clauses (which if triggered due to player negligence) which can void player contracts....see Mike Richards with LA

Thanks, I just figured there were so many people getting a cut of that players celery that it was an unwritten rule not to fire them.

From the prospects game yesterday I have some exciting hot takes

Bailey- Stud, never leaves the Sabres
Hurley- Never sees the Sabres
Cornel- I wish he wasn't with the Sabres
Nylander- Will be better than Sam
Florentino - Might make the NHL, and be the new Mike Weber of intensity (And dumb plays)
Baptiste- Played really well.
Fasching- So meh. He's OK

Very interesting. Thanks for posting this.

Edit: Anything specific about Cornel that makes you wish he was elsewhere?

One would say it's very exciting that he is excited about this team

I've been to the prospects game 3 years in a row, and I've never noticed him once. I don't think he is anything worth while in terms of a prospect. He's probably going to be a decent AHL'er

He was geeat. Forgot to mention him.

I really think Murray did a great job in the draft this year.

Pu, Asplund, and Nylander were all comfortable. Hagel was good. The Russian kid in the 7th round played decent

That kid is just happy to be playing hockey. Those are the players I have a soft spot for. He still plays the game with joy and has fun.

Yea, I'd say the only guy who I thought would be really good, and wasn't was Borgen. Bailey abused him a few times. Guhle was solid.

Kris Baker disagrees. He thought Borgen and Guhle looked very good.

IMO he was far from solid. Bailey walked around him coming down the wing, and then he got smoked again where he tried checking him by the boards.

He also hesitated on passing to a wide open guy on the side of the net and ended up turning it over.

I've been saying for a while now that we should use Fasching as trade bait
