Like most US cities attendance drops if not winning & Broncos & Nuggets & Rockies r ahead of them.

Normal fans don't support crap product year after year... After 4-5 years of crappy play without change on the horizon, it's time to cut bait.

Unlike smart fans, the ignorant ones keep supporting bad product and prolong the suffering...

I don't think they're screwed at all, they're not a budget team, they just won't spend money foolishly when they're not in a position to win it all.

Stan Kroenke and his wife, who's a Walmart heiress, are worth about 12 billion dollars collectively, they're not poor. He's owned the team since 2000, when they spent loads to win.

You can go 10% over the cap in the summer and the season doesn't start for months, they're intelligent people, they'll be fine IMO.

But what do I know

I totally agree. They will also get a second buyout window. They could make it work somehow for sure. How much you think Barrie gets in arbitration? I could see a move for them happening but Winnipeg definitely is a better trade partner.

Most Americans have their favourite teams and will go through them thick and thin. Football, baseball, basketball all have losing teams for decades and yet the stadiums are still mostly full. Look at the salary caps for all those leagues they're going up year after year unlike the NHL.

The NHL would be up as well if it wasn't for the Can$, none of those other leagues have 1/4 of their franchises in Canada.

Yes, but the NHL increases would be limited to the tens of percent rather than the other leagues going up by many billions per year. The point is that the NHL isn't necessarily entrenched with their fans in the USA compared to Canada where some of us still remember the Pacific Mausoleum

The NHL is, and always will be, a fringe league in the USA in terms of professional sports. Football, baseball, basketball and college sports will always be more popular than the NHL unless you have a winning team.

I want Landeskog but a Barrie deal makes more sense.
Tanev min going for Landeskog creates a hole.
It can enable the Av's more flexibility if moving Barrie as well.
Barrie not cheap but maybe a better idea.
Kane who many do not like still is worth considering.
Young & can mature but jury is out on that.

1 more key core piece be nice but seems we r working on a defensive style.
Makes sense with Marky being pushed to be #1 & what we have for prospects.

What do you think of this - A for Horvat

http://theprovince.com/sp...ssage-sew-the-a-on-horvat

We should probably have an A in the defence though.

The direction the NBA is heading in these days, I can see a lot of fan bases saying Fukk it. If you're going to make three super teams, then whats the point in watching mine.

A for Horvat is logically the next step.

I wonder what it'd cost to pluck Brayden Schenn out of philly? Plays center or left wing, better at center though, only 25 years old.

I said a few weeks ago hat the Nucks should think about putting an offer sheet for him as he was in the top 5 for scoring in the last half of the season. He could be a potential successor to Henrik on a lesser light but fits in with Linbenning's direction it seems right now.

Spitballing it would be in the $5.5m range as he's not getting Scheiffle or Mackinnon dollars but close to it with his production shown progression for the past 3 years.
