Shippy is a long shot.

Hudler is a dumb shot.

Canucks playing a more defensive type game is a no shot.

Boeser is a hot shot.

Gudbrandson and Tryamkin are big shots.

Tanev still has no shot.

- VANTEL

Shippy only comes to Van if you over pay him

Hudler might be past his expiry date but he was great with the kids in Cowtown...put him on a line with bo and JV and he could be beneficial

Playing a more defensive game is what under skilled teams do ...I say eff that go all offense

Boeser better be the next bure or this board is going to be on lockdown with all the trolling

Guddy is going to be a help .....tree is still years away from being impactful ...lots to learn over over here but also lots of potential

Tanev is your new hammy light ...

I would try Hutton ( Stetcher replaces) Sven , Canucks second and if I had to CBJs second .

Or if Edler waived one for one

- VANTEL

I'd trade Hutton and Sven as well. That might hurt us with Hutton in the long run but landy is only 23 I believe and he fills out the top 6. Not sure if Colorado takes that tho

Brayden Schenn is someone who I think could fill in nicely on the second line LW and since he's a C also fill in when Sutter gets hurt.
Him and Philly nowhere near close on a deal. Cost for him probably a bit less then Landeskog. Relatively close in similar playing styles but Schenn took longer to develop.

I just watched the Stecher and Boeser Mic'd up. Those 2 are definitely heads above a lot of the other prospects. Stecher can really walk the line. The next Tyson Barrie or Ryan Ellis or Torey Krug!

- manvanfan

Schenn would be a good choice.

Stetcher will challenge Hutton for his spot. If not this year next.

Baertschi, Hansen and a 1st.

Probably not enough still. The problem is cap space for Colorado to some degree. They would have to get rid of a bit. I see them moving Duchene first imo, if they move anyone at all.

Depends alot of Barrie too. What does he get from arbitration? Do they trade someone before knowing? It's a tough call.

He wants us to suck next year.
- Retinalz

If you could put eriksson with another line you would be better tho

But yeah you probably won't be that good either way ...just hope for either 80 point sessons from the twins of 30 point and every kid has better year than last and the season is a win

So what would a trade look like to get landeskog? As previous recent trades show Tanev for Landeskog straight up is not far off?
- manvanfan

Cuz every gm is willing to trade hall for a tanev ...forsberg for Erat ...shink for granlund

Colorado is NOT going to trade Landeskog to the Canucks unless they get a quality roster player (start with Horvat), a prospect (Boeser) and most likely a high pick. Landeskog is only 23, for gawd sakes, and is already a proven commodity. He has an all around great game and has shown excellent leadership skills, even at such a young age.

Yes, it would be great to acquire such a talent but it will come at a very high cost, and would not be worth it in the long run. I see Boeser as becoming a first line player, and the same goes with Horvat (for those of you who think he is nothing more than second line material, go and take a comparison of him and Henrik and you will note that Horvat is further ahead in his development than Sedin was at that time).

For those that point to the recent Hall for Larsson trade, the circumstances were much different and the Oil were FORCED into doing such a deal, as they are in a very weak bargaining position and under a lot of pressure to succeed and/or at least to change the overall culture/dynamics. The rest of the NHL GMs are aware of this and thus the Oil are never going to get full value back in any trade they are involved in, as was demonstrated earlier this month.

The Landeskog situation is significantly different and the Avalanche are not under any pressure to make any huge moves. It would be very surprising if he was dealt at all, let alone for any sort of middling package (if it was going to be for Tanev as the centre piece, then the Canucks would have to include Boeser and maybe Juolevi as well as a pick - a deal that would set the Canucks back for years)

So if the canucks aren't going to be good either way...what is your definition of not that good...bottom 5, 3...worse than Toronto and the Flames??

So, Sbisa and Tate Olsen won't get it done?

How about adding a 2nd rounder?... if we have any left in the next 5 years.

WTF?
They just signed Erikkson for that reason. Why would a Flames fan care?

Because Hudler is soft so it would help the flames lol

The Flames have better D no question but Elliott is still yet another backup for you guys and you literally have no 3rd or 4th line scoring. Canucks have way better balance through the four forward lines and much better goaltending. Flames will finish back of EDM and VAN this year but any or all may still mis the PO's.

Your opinion

Elliott isn't a long term answer but he is better than last years tandem and his numbers the past few years are far better than anything you have had in Van city

The thing people keep forgetting is even though the flames have a weak bottom 6 scoring their scoring from the backend will probably be higher than 25-29 teams ...and if they run monny, Bennett, and backs as 3 centers there's 3 scoring lines

Obviously I'm biased but I'm not too worried and like the direction of the team

Willie Desjardins needs to be a better coach and employ a much different system is they hope to improve defensively. Lets hope he does.
