Nobody is on schedule for Friday and I would bet that the C team plays an all star rendition of A+B would be my guess. |

Roughly 65 players at prospect camp. Hopefully Stan and company can find an invitee or two who have flown under the radar.
Keep in mind Team C is pretty much all veterans who will just practice together. The Hawks brass know they would dominate a scrimmage, hence they are not on the schedule. Plenty of sampe size in game action already.
On Luke Johnson. I saw him play in person a few times over the last few years for North Dakota against Omaha. I absolutely love his game. Tough, sturdy, takes the puck to the net hard, stand there refuses to get pushed out of there. Good penalty killer. For all the angst over Hayden not signing and going back to Yale for his Senior year, the door is open for Johnson to geta year ahead of him in pro hockey. - Omahawk
Cool! Thanks for the report! |

I will keep asking the question, why does everyone think the TVR is a shoe in to get picked up by Vegas next year if he can't even beat out Rozy or Kempny this year?
One side of the debate seems real odd to me - vabeachbear
Someone, the Hockey News, if I remember correctly, did a mock Las Vegas draft just after the announcement, and they had the Black Knights grabbing Desi. |

To get a 1LW back? No Way
Trade TVR next week, 3 games into the season, Rozy's ankle give out again, and he's back to using a walker.
Just wait and see how many posts there are on here about what and idiot Stan was for trading a dependable, young, cost effective Dman with that much experience at his age.
You don't know how good Kempny is yet, but you certainly know what Rozy, the Giraffe and Gus are.
How many of you would have put the Giraffe, Gus, or Rozy out on the ice ahead of TVR in the playoffs last year?
Why would you do it now. Defense wins championships and the top 6 D of;
Duncs - Seabs
Soupy - Hammer
Kempny - TVR
Is deeper than any of the 3 cup winning teams.
You know the offense and the forward depth is in no way as good as its been. With that being the case, just can't understand why you would give away your strongest asset in d depth. - vabeachbear

Hate to lose Desi but he would be an acceptable loss. Although, it would be interesting for LV to take Desjardins since he would be a pending UFA.
If Stan wanted to protect TvR he'd have to offer up a forward that would be more enticing, like Kruger, Panik or possibly Hartman. |

Kruger would get taken, IMO.
LV won't have any non-productive cap-heavy legacy contracts - and if they draft smart, they won't add any. Kruger at $3.1 (?) would be a very nice puck-up - at worst a bottom line mainstay with Cup experience, PK leadership, FO success (if his wrist is healed), cost controlled for two years - if the Hawks weren't so continuously cap-strapped, we'd be celebrating his contract. - StLBravesFan
Teams can either protect 7F, 3D & 1G or 8 skaters & 1G. I think the second option may be better.
The guys protected would be:
Crawford
Toews
Kane
Hossa
Anisimov
Keith
Seabrook
Hjalmarsson
TvR
At risk of being claimed would be one of: Kruger, Hartman, Pokka and Panik. |

That would be HUGE! I mean
At worst Vesey is an NHL-ready 3rd line, big bodied scoring winger. At best, he is Saad 2.0....DO IT STAN!!! |

DK, the good news Vesey now knows the Hawks are interested in him after Stan's appearance at his summer league game this past week.
The longer he goes without choosing Buffalo, the better.
Interesting that Vesey said he is now studying teams holes in their rosters and depth charts, seeing where he might fit.
If Stan wines him and dines him after August 15 and says, we envision you next to Toews and Hossa or with Anisimov and Kane. And by the way take a look at these 3 Stanley Cup rings, all in this decade, we think we are close to number 4, well, that's an incredible pitch.
I'm with you. We can dream. |

I was at the camp today and loved what I saw out of Hayden. He has great size and a helluva shot. I actually wasn't that impressed with Johnson, although I liked what I saw in the few North Dakota games I saw on CBS Sports Net last season. Also, I was surprised by the skating ability from Carl Dahlstrom at 6-4. Very impressive.
Schmaltz and Motte looked strong and that Belgian goalie Peeters was pretty solid. Just a few observations. |

Regarding McNeill...isn't he in the same situation as Baun?
Baun's entry level deal expires so he is ineligible for the prospect camp. McNeill's entry level deal has expired as well. |

If he doesn't sign the QO he becomes a FA? If that's the case package him in a trade. Better to get something then seeing him just walk. - z1990z
If he doesn't take the QO by Dec 1, he doesn't skate for anyone. Basically a hold out. |

I'm pretty sure I have seen in a couple of places that Vessey has zero intention of signing before August 15th.
I don't want Versteeg at all, let alone for 3 years. He doesn't provide anything you can't get from anyone at Rockford and costs more than someone from Rockford would. Pretty sure it was said that 19 and 81 need a puck retriever, not a turnover machine. |

Not being 100% sure when the actual expansion selection takes place or how upcoming contract obligations factor in. . .
Kruger's MNTC does not kick in until 7/1/17. |

I don't know if I'd say nothing. He was on the World Jr team, and the games I saw, was pretty good.
Wiz I think posted something about what GMs are going to start trading these guys who are in their senior years if they think there's a chance they aren't going to sign.
If you see Hayden traded, you can probably be sure that Stan knows he's going to go the FA route.
They also could have a deal worked where both sides wanted him to go back to school and wait a year. |
