One of my top 10 hated Leafs was Count Floyd Smith. He was a sh!tty hockey player and terrible GM. He's the guy that traded our first for Tom Kurvers and then the team tanked to last place during the Lindros draft. We ended up losing Scott Niedermeyer, over that little gem. He then tried to hide his mistakes, by trading more players and draft picks, for 3rd and 4th liners(Lucien Deblois), so they didn't get to dead last and have the stench of losing Lindros over his head. He was also a crackerjack scout that couldn't draft worth a sh!t, as well.

I remember he was scouting a Duke's game when I was 10 or so. I had one of those corduroy Leaf hats, blue brim, white rest. I got him to autograph it.

I hoped that you used it for kindling wood, to start your next fire. Almost as bad as the Harold Ballard autograph, that I didn't ask for from him. I had a 1981 Annual Leafs guide and I went up to talk to King Clancy. Harold, being the jerk that he was, rips it out of my hand and signs it. Should have asked for my money back.
