Chuckle?? The Sabres have not been to the playoffs in five years finishing last two of the last three years and I cant buy season tickets because they are sold out for the last five years. Chuckle? Yah, WNY is full laughter at the bandwagon fans all over the NHL - Puckhead716
He said anyone else get a chuckle at millions of sabres fans. You then point out that u have not been able to get season tix for the last 5 years because of the millions of fans buying them out. Would have been better if he said the 19000 sabres fans and not a million. |

Yeah well in most Western Canadian cities you see a lot of Original 6 jerseys, some Philly, Some Avalanche, Pens, Caps, And a few others in full force when the team comes to town. Not sure if its a measuring stick or not but I see zero Sabres Jerseys when they roll through.
It's an Interesting question, for fans outside of Buffalo, how many hockey fans have The Sabres as their no1 team, or even no2? Better question yet , if yes, why? |

what is it with sabres fans obsession with comparing their rebuild to toronto?
sabres hit rock bottom 3 years ago with 52 pts (expansion teams usually perform better). they got reinhart. the finished last again and got eichel. leafs just got 69 points and won matthews, it wouldnt be a surprise at all to see them hover near 80 pts next year.
time to stop worrying about toronto and worry about your own team.
no one in toronto cares about buffalo. time to let it go |

I'm not a Leafs fan, but I come in here for the comedy gold provided Garf and the Sabres faithful. One of my favorite fan bases to talk hockey with. |

Funny you should say that. I'm a packers, and sabres fan. I'm from South Dakota. I feel in love with hasak and how he played and liked them ever since. It's actually pretty nice to get to choose who you root for |

Yeah I suppose. I didn't get to choose myself, and as much as it sucks being an Oilers fan for the last 30 years , that's the way it goes. Still have memories of me and my Brothers going with the folks to all those Playoff parties in the 80's .Sure, we played with toys and didn't really watch the games, but you still had an idea that it was a big deal.
I still remember what it felt like when Steve Smith scored on his own net. |

As much as I hate to admit it, there is a little of the little brother syndrome with Buffalo when it comes to hockey and Toronto. We want a rivalry. Rivalries are fun. Hating some teams is almost as fun as loving your own team. So TO is always brought up because we "love to hate them" hope this answers your question |

Hey at least you got to see what it feels like to win back then. It was awesome to watch Rodgers win the SB 6 years ago. I ran around town I was living in into each one of my vikings fans houses only to get stuff thrown at me and I was out the door to the next house to take another shot and then get beaten again. Good times

For what it's worth, alot of people like the sabres here because vanek played here when he played good ushl. I personally hated him when he played in Sioux falls. He was just as lazy Bach then |

Its better to reserve your hate for a viewing sport rival than anyone in real life anyway.
Me, I hate the Sabres, mostly because their GM looks like a pederass, but also because most of the fans on here come across as delusional . Oh, and Garf. |

Oh, I'm sure there's pockets of fair weather fans here and there, but what's the hook that makes a non resident a life long fan?
LA kings- SC success, Gretzky
Philly- SC success, cool identidity as the Broad street Bullies
Islanders- Dynasty era
Oilers-Dynasty era, Gretzky,
Penguins- SC success, Lemieux, Sid
You can't tell me the French connection line captured the hearts of so many distant fans when there were so many better players and teams in that era.
Hasek makes a lot of sense if you're really into Hot Sexy goalies. |

Haha absolutely. No worries, I'm none to happy with the oil and their inability to share 1st overalls. It's just sports, so while I to talk poop and maybe ruffle feathers a little, I usually try to be as realistic as possible. Unless I'm actively trying to piss someone off. Then I'll say anything just to watch them lose their poop |

Our inability to share? More like your team's inability to secure the 1st overall pick when you are clearly the most deserving. I mean, nobody tanks that hard for Jack Eichel. |

Wow at last..an intelligent well written response and one absolutely agree with
seeing how the habs/leafs rivalry lately has been nothing more than grade school pond hockey I love when the sabres come to town , games actually feel like they mean something |
