Just leaving camp...

I watched them scrimmage for about 15 minutes, the first thing that struck me is how very young they all look and are. Really lean kids! Secondly, even with a program it's hard to look at and recognize all of them in a short amount of time.

Standouts, Brock Boeser, the kid was going 80%, unlike most of the others, and he was heads above all the other forwards in terms of pure talent. Juolevi is really poised with the puck, tall lean kid with excellent wheels.

Never heard of Jacob Sweeny before but he's a frickin monster of a kid!

After the scrimmage they brought all the dmen back out for drills, this allows me a smaller sample size to look at. What stood out, Troy Stetcher, holy crap that kid is an extremely gifted skater, so much better than most others. Brisebois is also an effortless skater, but he's a thin kid. Carl Neil, Juolevi, Stetcher and Brisebois were their best kids....today anyways.

Oh, they all came out to sign autographs for the kids, I met eye to eye with demko, big kid!!

December '84 - May '85.
It was about 2 or 3 years old at the time. Canadian student the 1st Tuesday of every month and 3 week old videotaped NHL games on the odd night.
Fun times!!

You would not have served me. I was there throughout the 90s. Was there last in 2012. So funny.

They still show games that are days old. I guess you can call them classics.

it was a joke.

Anyway, I'm going to assume you weren't going to games during the end of the Messier years. It was basically general seating. Have your pick.

The canucks will survive. This owner might not. But who gives a (frank) about him.

- bloatedmosquito

Good joke I've only been attending games for about 15 years, been watching for 30. Seen some dark times!

Don't ask me. I don't have a (frank)ing clue what's going on with this team.

But I think he's said he's going back to college.

He's already said he's going back for his sophomore year, after that he doesn't know, or read between the lines he might turn pro after that.

Am I alone or would anybody else like to see us sign Justin Schultz for a meager $950,000 in a show-me contract? We need some more depth in case we trade Pizza-boy.

Been a lot. More bad than good.

I think if this franchise had won 1 cup out of the multitude of chances they had you would find a calmer fan base. I think fan anxiety is driven by years and years of frustration. Canucks are going to hit 50 years without a cup. That’s a whole generation of people who have watched and waited. I think they have a right to be fickle.

Maybe if they see empty seats they will smarten the (frank) up and get this thing done right so we don’t hit 60 years without anything to show for it except the (frank)ing Ring of Honour.

Ring of Honour.

My hoop is a Ring of Horror after eating one of those $10.00 hot dogs...

Well I agree that fans deserve to be pissed off but I like the current direction of the team so I still attend the games...getting younger, holding onto their top picks, drafting well all while doing their best to put a competitive product on the ice. Execution isn't perfect but I approve of the strategy

I would give him a deal that allows us to bury him in the minors without any cap hit to us.

Haha yeah, I spent 11 hours at the Maple Leaf pub on Canada day where Molson Canadians were selling for 7 pounds a bottle... that is insane

Wimbledon was worth every penny though

Who you see winning Wimbledon this year? Without Djokovic there it's pretty much up for grabs!

What do you guys think the cost to bring one of Derek Stepan or Chris Kreider to Vancouver would be? I'd think Kreider is cheaper option and I think would work well with Sutter and any of Baer, Hansen, Rodin on the second line. I could see Arbitration giving him 4-4.5 mil.

Winning two regular season championships and getting to the scf fourth round isn't mediocrity. Toronto style mediocrity is never, NEVER getting to the fourth round of the tournament, or winning a regular season championship.

Tough to say. On the men's side Murray had the easiest route to the finals, so I can see him being rested enough to win but I hope the winner of Federer/Raonic takes the title. Likewise, I had hoped after watching Cibulkova beat Bouchard that she would do keep it going, but now I am hoping Kerber pulls the upset on the Williams sisters. All that being said, betting against Murray and Serena would be foolish IMO
