I read into it as the opposite. He responded to a thread about how Vesey could affect our roster with "I wouldn't worry about Vesey." Meaning don't waste your time planning for Vesey
- turbo044

Can't wait on him if Murray has a chance to make changes IMO you don't wait. This whole thing has a bad vibe to it.

I'm not trying to be negative about Vesey and I would like it if he signed here but, this whole thing is very strange.

If he wanted to be here, it would be done already. I was told unless some miracle happens, he is going to AUG.15th
- SABRES 89

But that doesn't tell us anything. For all we know, Buffalo could be at the top of his list, and he plans on signing with them on say 8/18 but he just wants to do his due diligence on 2-3 other teams. I think a good indication is it gmtm trades for another winger, stands pat or trades a winger for a dman like Fowler. If he trades for a winger = no Vesey l, stands pat = who knows, trades a winger = Vesey is likely

I'm just telling you what I was told and some you have probably read about already but most is what everyone knows, he's waiting. That's the same info my uncle got from his friend with the Sabres. This whole thing has been pretty cut and dry from the beginning as to what his plan was.

Stamkos kind of did the same thing, he had about 5 or 6 teams that wanted him and for more money but he did what was best for him and signed back in Tampa. Vesey will do the same, find the best fit for him and his future.

This was my first time putting any pet down. It really sucks but it was the right decision, he wasn't doing too well. He was 16 so I suppose he lived a full life.
- chilliard77

That really sucks. The first time is the hardest. Not that the subsequent times are really any easier, you just know the procedure.

am of the opinion that landing Vesey at $925k will buy the sabres a full year to see how ennis is doing, to see if Moulson can get out of his slump and to see just where the likes of Girgensons, Foligno and Larsson fit into the forward mix up-front
- Michael Pachla

Am I the only one here that doesn't wanna trade Ennis?
I think he can be a pretty good 3rd line winger...
Score 20+ goals
Possibly our version of Hagelin
Could be part of a line that creates matchup problems for other teams

sorry to hear that, I had to put my little buddy Boots down he was 17 yrs old. Pretty good for a cat I was told but that didn't help me.

It never does. I had a dog who was 11. We had him from when I was maybe 4 to 15. That was the worst by far. A few others since. Once because the dog was crazy. He was 150 lbs of solid muscle. Thickness of a black lab, but the size of a big doberman. He would be totally fine one minute and then literally no one would move/and or touch him and he would snap at you then realize what he did, tuck tail and went into his crate(all of this in maybe 3 seconds). He never kept going after anyone thankfully. That would've ended badly. But there were a few real close calls. And he actually clipped my mom's nose once and drew blood. And after maybe 3 more times of unprovoked snapping he had to be put down. Poor thing.

yup, guess I red it rong...that said, the sabres will have the first opportunity to show what they have to offer...when it gets to aug. 15 he'll be courted by other organizations...

pure speculation on my part but i'm of the opinion that Vesey is trying to prove that he can stick to his guns and that he can make his own decisions...that whole piece I did was about a boy striking out on his own away from his hometown of boston and away from the influence of his family, and that includes Toronto too where his father and brother are...

in the end, if true, he'll be coming to buffalo unless a team like Chicago, maybe philadelphia or even Pittsburgh make an offer...as for the rangers, imo, it's too big of a city for him

As long as he comes back and plays like last year never happened.
I dont know what the crap he thought he was doing last year when he was on the ice, but it was the best Afinogenov impression since Max himself.
All over the place, and making nothing happen.
And im a fan. Theres just no room for a one man threat on this team. Unless you're so good, you're actually putting up points all by yourself.

In a perfect world, yes, but this team still has a few too many holes for a luxury like that. You can add the Carl Hagelins of the world at the trade deadline fairly cheaply when you are ready to make a run at a championship.

I've said it before but I think the Sabres made this move expecting him to go to August 15th. The idea is to have almost 2 months to pitch to him that no matter how many teams he visits, Buffalo will still be the best fit.

Reports state that Rick Nash was seen boarding a plane out of Buffalo Int'l Airport at 4:43pm today. He was wearing a Sabres hoodie and Bills sandals. He screamed "One Buffalo" just before slamming a beer with Eichel at the bar prior to boarding the plane.

This is getting real folks.

From a fairly reliable source who told me about Okposo well before it was done. Sabres are very confident about Vesey, to put a number on it 80%. For some odd reason they are being really quiet about it.
Nash- they are willing to over pay for him. They are confident they'll land either Nash or Fowler, but not both because they same names are being brought up on both. They want Nash more. Vaguely given, names being used are Kane, Ennis, Franson, Girgenson, picks (no surprise there).
