As far as the analytics go. Once analytics become a key negotiating factor, I'd imagine more player's will simply crossbreed blueline and shoot. Forget getting into a good scoring position, forget passing to a teammate that's may be open. It would be better analytically speaking to make sure there's a shot on goal. Doesn't have to be a scoring chance , just driving possession ( shots on goal), not actually possessing the puck, and making plays.

We could go out and sign the best possession guys in the league. They'd have no goals to show for their 320 shots, so they'd have a low shooting percentage, but at least they would be deemed to have an unsustainable shooting percentage.
