That graph is a pretty good indicator of production in the NHL. It's nice to have analytical data readily available at your fingertips.

I'd rather trade Johnson if we need cap relief. Namestinkov seems ready to hold down a top 6 center spot, making Johnson somewhat expendable. Trade Bishop and Filp, and if we still need more cap space, trade TJ to try and hold onto Stamkos, Kucherov, Drouin, Palat, Killorn, and Namestinkov, who I consider the core offensively of the Lightning.

TJ will be gone after this year. Have smallish centers in Cuse (Point/Peca) who can step in when TJ gets too expensive

How about these stats:
Stamkos goal totals:
2009-10: 51
2010-11: 45
2011-12: 60
2012-13: 29 (in 48 games which is on pace for 50 goals over 82 games)
2013-14: 25 (in 37 games which is on pace for 55 goals over 82 games)
2015-16: 36

Kucherov scored a career high in goals this year with 30.

Kucherov has never scored more than 66 points in a single season. Stamkos has 3 90+ point seasons.

Stamkos is better than Kucherov.

He was 6th in scoring and 4th in possession on the Lightning, but often found himself being bounced around the lineup. He played very well when he was playing with Stammer or Kuch, but when they dropped him down to the 3rd or 4th line, he kind of disappeared (given the quality of teammates). 3 points in 17 playoff games is pretty brutal for one of the best forwards on the Lightning...
- j.boyd919

Yes he did bounce around the lineup last year but it was the first season he received any time in top 6. I'm expecting a big jump from him this year

I like Namestnikov, I think he's a blast to watch play, dudes got skills and silky hands. But if you're not going to put him in a position to succeed, then why have him? I don't want to see the dude get bounced around the lineup. Same with Drouin, I think both of those guys need to be top 6 forwards 100% of the time. No one benefits from playing with Boyle, Condra, or Paquette. Another Q is, did his TOI/spot in the lineup change due to cooling off, or did it change due to players (Johnson, Palat, Cally) coming off injuries, or was it a combo of both?
- j.boyd919

Injuries. He bounced up when TJ, Palat, and even Drouin went down. Bounced back down when they came back. There is a very good chance he plays in top 6 this year and honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him with Stammer/Drouin or possibly with Kuch/TJ is Palat jumps in with Stammer/Drouin

Flip will move before Calahan.

Bishop won't under any circumstance be a cap dump. More likely Yzerman would hold him through this season before he dumps for peanuts. He would provide value to us were he to be selected in the expansion draft in that his selection would protect other valuable youngsters at risk of selection like Namestnikov. Also Bish would help us solve the money that has to be exposed problem as well. Now it is much more likely Bish is dealt, but it won't be a cap dump scenario and if it does get to the point of him being a dump or no deal Yzerman will take the no deal scenario and use Bishop's selection in the expansion draft as the value of the no-trade scenario

I can’t really see vegas taking a pending ufa in the draft.

I do see the value in running with bishop for one more year; worth more than the couple picks the trade market would probably give for him.

Except that data, itself, is easily skewed and that graph offers little to no context.

What does Hall have anything to do with it

You said both deals would be done. JVR for a young dman and Bozak for Girardi.

I would guess in this scenario Vegas would want to talk to him 1st, but there certainly would be value for Vegas to get their #1 tender this way.

Either way Yzerman isn't giving away Bish for a cap dump.

Not gonna happen, Tampa rather let Bishop walk out of his contract than make this deal I'm afraid.

What are the lines for the Yotes without trades and Doan signed?? Something like this?

McGinn - Hanzal - Duclair
Domi - Strome - Rieder
Martinook - Vermette - Doan (if not signed Fischer?)
Dauphin - Richardson - White

OEL - Murphy
Goligoski - Stone
Connauton - Michalek

Dahlbeck/McBain

- DutchSenators

I think it's more likely that Domi plays with Hanzal as he complements that line better. Plus McGinn on stromes wing pairs better. Rieder should be in the 3rd line left wing slot, so it's a shame he has to play up on the second line RW...one of the biggest weaknesses of the lineup. My bold prediction is Henrik Samuelsson shocks folks and makes the opening night roster and settles into a 3rd or 4th line scoring power forward.

Defense looks about right unless chychrun impresses and gets tutored/sheltered on the third pairing.

It's painful because I think we are a sniping RW to ride shotgun with strome, and a top right D away from being a good playoff team. But without them we are likely in the worst possible position...selecting 10-13 in the draft. I think yakupov is close to a bust, but if I am choosing between this lineup and taking a flyer on yakupov being stromes trigger man, I am going for it! Then Dvorak, 1st and second tier prospect for shattenkirk. The BOOM!!! Dragon slayers in the playoffs, for years to come!

Kucherov in the playoffs was better than any Stamkos I've seen for a couple years.

Is Kucherov ever going to be better than the 60 goal Stamkos? Unlikely.

But Stamkos isn't close to as good without the puck and that portion of the game is really underrated. Going forward, I'd be pretty confident calling Kucherov the superior player.

So to recap Tanner's thoughts on the Lightning.....

Give us 3 good player and a bad contract(which includes a NMC.) Never midn that though.

For...
A prospect that is still a question mark, a decent 4-5 d-man, a bottom 6 center and 1st.

Also Kucherov is better than Stamkos.

Sounds like a Tanner type of week.
