Still don't understand wtf happened with this trade. Yakupov + 2017 1st for Larsson would have done it for me....but I think the past season he came back from bust status

NJ didn't want a center and they valued Hall above RNH. Shero came out and said there would be no deal if Hall wasn't involved.

Honestly, a package that would have involved ebs, pouliot, davidson, and hell even Reinhart would have been more enticing and better for both sides.

As for the cap hit, that can easily be handled by throwing in Clowe's contract. He retired, but he is still under contract for two more years. YOu think this will affect signing McDavid? Clowe's contract (4.85mill cap hit) expires right before McDavid requires a new contract or before his extension begins(In 2 years).

Roster wise, NJ would still get elite level offensive production from Ebs who consistently has put up and they would have as big of a gap in the defense as they have now. Not saying Davidson is even close to Larsson, but he would definitely help NJ in that situation.

The more you look at it, the more you see it as a move that was made to acquire Lucic. Nonetheless, it was a rushed trade.

Lucic was signed to fill halls spot after getting larsson. Not just as a straight up replacement.
Right or wrong, it's clear that pc saw lucic/larsson > hall.

And talked seriously before the draft. Then a quick talk at the draft. Then two more days after the draft
